    This is how it looks from the outside, in the pic the piston is just before compression stroke, thats the reason why the mark on the flywheel not aligned with notch on inspection window.

          You really dont know where it is coming from?
          If its coming from the rear of the bike.. its the squeaking sound the rear tyre makes when the bike is moving slow. The rear tyre on fz is notorious for that sound and when I was researching about the bike before buying it, it was mentioned on some reviews.
          If its coming from the front.. its disc related. Cleaning will solve it.

              Tank Protector

              Hi Friends,

              I bought a Fazer - Red-silver one month back. As time passes by, I am seeing more and more but minor scratches on the tank. I really feel bad, I don't want to put a tank cover which almost hide he beauty of the tank and I am not sure how tank pad can prevent the complete tank as well.

              Any suggestions guys? Your answers are highly appreciable.

                few days since bike's electric start not working, to start more acceleration than normal had to be applied. When started bike rpm is not stable slows down and stops. Also when going around 3000rpm bike hiccups...
                whaT could be the reason....help me out guys

                  Is it happening only during start up and engine warming up including engine hesitating to go beyond 3000 rpm. Then increase the idle speed and let the engine warm up for atleast a minute. If the ambient temp is cold then its a common problem with carb bikes. how many kms on the ODO?

                  If not then, Petrol quality and check the carb tuning. Change the petrol bunk. Your carb tuning is messed up also use system g to get rid of any gum or gunk that might have entered the fuel lines.

                      Battery Problem

                      guys my fz16 is experiencing a peculiar problem (since its just over 2months old)... my battery is weak and i experienced this 2days back...

                      -- i cudn electric start sumtimes after switching off the vehicle even within a gap of several minutes (happens even while switching off at signals )

                      -- headlight goes bright and dim while accelerating

                      i contacted the service person at yamaha here and he told that the batt should be recharged every month... is this true? i ride my bike evryday (say 9 outta 10 days).. i serviced my vehicle on 13th of august (1st service)..

                      pl help me outta dis guys

                      odo- 2100km
                      nx service - 3000km (or afta 1 month frm now)

                        It might be because of faulty battery. I think you need to give the battery for charge and then check the terminals are rust free and do some extensive riding and check whether the battery charge stays else you will get battery replaced under warranty. There is no where written in the manual that you need to charge the battery month. I ride around 5-10kms a day maximum and it's been more than three months, battery is well alive. SVC guys is just fooling you.

                        If your bike is not starting after several attempts with the starter then don't trouble the babe anymore. Use kick start and your bike will be started immediately. This problem seems to have with many people. Sometimes my babe doesn't start with several repeated attempts with the starter and I found that in that conditions it's better to use kick. for me this happens once in a week or two and it's not routine.

                          ok.....i checked it out buddy....but i dnt thnk its from the tyres......the reason is becoz when i press the clutch there is no sound nd when i release the clutch it comes back again.....so i believe its from engine...... it really bugging me as my ride doesn't sound smooth like other siblings......but no vibrations of any sorts....just sound

                            do the following:

                            1. take of the seat
                            2. take the right hand side mid panel by pulling it out after removing two screws.
                            3. remove the battery
                            4. remove the small screws on the batteries
                            5. fill it with water. distilled preferable. otherwise tap water will do.
                            6. refit everything back
                            7. take the bike out for a ride for 10-15 kms and even after that if you face difficulties get your battery changed.

                              Scratches on tank can't appear if not done intentionally or unknowingly...be careful of not putting anything on the tank if you want to keep it looking as good as new.Also use a wax polishing agent for application and removal of minor scratches.Hope this helps.
                              A pic showing the scratches would be more appreciated. I personally prefer the Pulsar's tank guard for the scratches from belt buckle while riding. It serves the purpose quite well.

                                minor scratches can come on the tank by buckles, shirt, bags etc.....
