If generic mods like HID lights, rim stripes and body modifications then other riders can help you out with that.

Hello ppl,
A weird thing is happening with my Fazer, after my last service on 21st Sept, my bike doesnt stop running in main even when my fuel is almost used up entirely.
Actually my fazer was giving around 33 approx milage. It use to run around 220kms on 500 Rs petrol (approx 6.5 liters) and use to shut down on the main after that. But now it keeps running in main, I noticed that it was running still in main even after 250kms so I opened my tank to see how much fuel is left and I was surprised thre was hardly any.
Before the service I told my service engineer that the bike is giving me very low milage, I dont know what he did he told me now you should be getting around at least 40kmpl.
Normally I refuel when the bike hits reserve every time. But this time it did not trigger the reserve fuel. It kept using through the main. I am glad I opened the tank to see the fuel left otherwise would have be stranded somewhere in the middle of the road in this heat

As per the SVC's commitment - you still had 10 km left to hit the reserveOriginally posted by rahlp View PostHello ppl,

Hi Chennaities!
It's already 2 days past one month, I have also ride 1020KM so far. I am getting all the negative feedbacks for Yahama dealers in Chennai. Anybody from Chennai can please tell me where I can bring my bike for first service?
I bought my fazer 2012 model from Raj Yamaha Velachery, but heard that service is worst there, heard some good feedbacks about Ambal motors, still there are some negative feedbacks. Paras motors also having very bad ratings.
I am confused, can you please tell me?
Thanks a lot!

Very much interested (Still I'm waiting for his reply) in Joel's FFE. But some people (2 to be exact) are saying that installing only the FFE,without big-bore and other mods, will screw up the engine in the long run.Is it true?
Another question,I have a scratch on my right headlight. So,if I need to fix it,I gotta change the whole headlamp assembly, right? Only the plastic lens is not available from SVC?
@Shaunm: Regarding cosmetic mods and lighting mods,PM me...I can help u out a bit.Last edited by SpeedyKol; 10-03-2012, 12:23 AM.

If you are calculating your average based on 3 ltrs or 5ltrs fill up please remember it is not accurate. To get the correct readings, DO tankful to reserve and tankful to reserve again.Originally posted by rahlp View PostHello ppl,

Rate your Service Centre
Hi,
Guys i saw a nice initiative taken by rider Aargee on CBR 250R thread where they have put forward a collective effort to rate the various Yamaha SVCs based on their experience from all across India.
I believe this would be a good way to put up a good and resourceful info for all the FZ/Fazer owners across the cities in India both for Noobs and experienced riders too. So lets say if any of you guys are crazy enough to go on a pan india tour as well, it would be simple to decide which SVC to hit should you leave from your home ground and reach a city say Bangalore/Bengaluru in India. Then which SVC is best rated by Riders from Blore would be a big help and handy info for you. At the same time, for Noobs it will be easier to decide which SVC to opt for so that their rides are not ruined by inattentive guys.
Worse case scenario, once the compilation is done, same can be sent to Yamaha Back Office to give the company guys a chance to try and crack a whip on these morons!!
I would request all the members belonging to this thread to kindly do share their experience and rate the SVC in their respective places based on these parameters:
Rate the parameters below between 1-5 points. So if you really like a particular thing out of the questionnaire write/describe you experience first and then put say 5/5, if not then say 1/5 or 2/5. Hope this is clear enough:
1) Name of the SVC, Address, City & Contact No., Contact Person, Working hours (e.g. between Monday to Saturday, 10:00 am - 6,:00 pm).
2) How much time is taken by the SVC person to respond to the call?
3) Time Taken to give an appointment.
4) Time taken by the SVC Head or the mechanics to come to your bike and address your concerns.
5) Were you attended by the SVC representatives? Rate their behaviour and knowledge about parts availability and general queries.
6) Committed time given by the SVC to deliver your ride back to you.
7) How much it costed you to get the service done? If possible do give a break up.
8) Was the work done to your satisfaction? Do write the name of the SVC Engineer and the mechanic who handled your ride.
9) Would you like go back to the same SVC for future service? Or would you choose a local mechanic, if so why?
I understand that this is a little bit long boring and exhaustive to write however, I would request all the riders to do help me compiling this post so that it is beneficial for all of us.

A good suggestion Deville, however personally i feel this particular topic is not an OT and related specifically to our rides Plus makes it a lot easier for the users both noobs and experienced riders to read and rate the same on a single thread rather than searching for another one.Originally posted by deville_56 View Post^^
I think it's better to do it as separate thread or spreadsheet (google doc).
i will compile this into one post and make it into a sticky and if later requested by other users will compile a google doc so that all the compiled list is easily readable by all.
similarly done by Aargee. : http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post857319
Now the only thing needed is cooperation and response from fellow riders.
