Erm not a right way of riding a bike. Now the way i see it, your engine is starving for fuel. (Senior riders please correct me if i am wrong on this!). Keep the knob on 'ON' position and only once the bike hits reserve then only shift it to 'Reserve' mode.Originally posted by rajpradeep32 View PostThanks for your reply. I will change the petrol bunk as you said, but normally how much ever petrol i fill i always used to let the switch to be in reserve mode.
In Regards to your engine not starting properly or switching off right after cranking, it is a simple solution of increasing the engine idle speed. Once your engine heats up then set the idle to 1300-1500 rpm. The morning start issues should go. If it doesn't crank just by pressing the ignition button, apply a slight throttle while cranking and you should not have any problem with it.
It is a very common problem with all carb'd bikes. The same has been explained a few pages back.. all is needed from all the new comers to just go back a few pages and read it once.

Same thing happened to me exactly as you said. After Shiv recommended me to keep the idle RPM at 1.5k that problem vanished. First ride the bike for few kms and when the engine gets warmed well then adjust the idle RPM to 1.4k RPM.Originally posted by rajpradeep32 View PostYea every time in the morning when i start my bike it doesn't stay idle and just turns off. Then it would not start again if i use the electric switch i have to use the kicker to start it again and after revving it for some time it will stay idle.
I also get engine not starting with the starter switch after several attempts once in a bluemoon and for that I just ignore the starter switch and give a single kick and the bike starts the next split second.

Don't be afraid to give your bike a bit of rev when you are startin g it. eg twist the throttle and once the engine has started, twist and release, twist and release a few times instead of just relying on the throttle position when starting it. Don't be scared, Give it what it needs, more air, more fuel, less air and less fuel etc.
If the engine sounds like its going to stall then give it a rev. Simple. If its cold enough to warrant the use of the choke, Then use it. You did pay for that feature so why not use it.
If it stalls then press that red button again until it starts back up again.
These are not EFI engines with cold start injectors, enriched AF's, a auto choke, MAP/Flap/Karmen Vortex/Hotwire sensors measuring airflow and putting in pre-programmed amounts of fuel when first starting the engine up. These are simple engines. Push the button, give it a rev.
I usually don't go by the exact number for setting idle, I find a number where I get a nice smooth idle, The exhaust puts out a nice even beat. I like my idle slightly higher than low, Personal preference. Currently my idle is a bit over 1500. I've tried 1000 and gone up incrementally but a tad over 1500 seems to be my engines sweetspot.2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

Don't know this is problem or not..but explaining to you..for every cold start of my bike.i can hear a sound of metal contact like (tik tik) for max 2-3 sec.after that it vanishes automatically..but i feel it only when the bike is in center stand while cold starting..another thing happens for me don't know the reason. for every cold start if i press the starter switch it wont start with 1st pressing (only if i don't use throttle) 2nd time it will not start(with out throttle) but it will definitely start on 3rd time with out throttle..but if i use slight throttle it starts any time..

Tik tik sound is metal expansion and relaxation sound.. In the morning/first start expansion.. when you park the vehicle after ride.. the relaxation. Nothing to worry.Originally posted by uddiptocse View PostDon't know this is problem or not..but explaining to you..for every cold start of my bike.i can hear a sound of metal contact like (tik tik) for max 2-3 sec.after that it vanishes automatically..but i feel it only when the bike is in center stand while cold starting..another thing happens for me don't know the reason. for every cold start if i press the starter switch it wont start with 1st pressing (only if i don't use throttle) 2nd time it will not start(with out throttle) but it will definitely start on 3rd time with out throttle..but if i use slight throttle it starts any time..
but if i use slight throttle it starts any time - Do it always, simple! No problem.

Hi friends,
I own a fazer 150cc. It's been just two days since I finished my first service. Now the problem is that I am getting this trrrrrrrrrrr trrrrrrrr sound whenever I press the self-starter button. The engine doesn't start but only this sounds comes. So I have to to kick start it every time. It really make it difficult to start it every time when I get stuck in a traffic.
Is there a problem with the battery or connection to the battery? Why should this happen as soon as the service is done?
Please help me.
Thanks,

Battery is flat or cannot hold a charge.Originally posted by shaunm View PostHi friends,

If you ride it for some distance/time say 30mins. Shut the engine down. Can you restart it with the starter button?
Either way you need to check your battery. I'd be looking at a replacement battery in the future.2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

Do you mean that ur bike isn't starting even after you have ridden for a while and you stop and switch off your engine at a signal?Originally posted by shaunm View PostHi friends,

Might be a short circuit. Are your other electrical systems like horn, lights etc working fine without the engine on?
The SVC guys might have messed up the electrical contacts by mistake. Take it to SVC and ask them to check again.

Bro I too facing the same issue of Tik Tik sound while initial start and after switching off at the end of the day.Originally posted by uddiptocse View PostDon't know this is problem or not..but explaining to you..for every cold start of my bike.i can hear a sound of metal contact like (tik tik) for max 2-3 sec.after that it vanishes automatically..but i feel it only when the bike is in center stand while cold starting..another thing happens for me don't know the reason. for every cold start if i press the starter switch it wont start with 1st pressing (only if i don't use throttle) 2nd time it will not start(with out throttle) but it will definitely start on 3rd time with out throttle..but if i use slight throttle it starts any time..
It may be due to expansion/relaxation as explained by muztariq.
Reg the cold start issue it's not abt 1st or 2nd or 3rd press. It's about the igniting temperature (experts correct me if I'm wrong) of AF mixture. If the ride is not starting for the 1st time (then the temperature is not enough to ignite the AF mixture inside the chamber) use the choke (cuts some portion of air so the AF will be rich), it will start. This is the only purpose of choke in the bike. So don't hesitate to use it as mentioned by shiv and mad mike2009 Yamaha FZ-S

No change in settings...
Sales Person told, new version (2012) comes with 2 Carb wire and reduced torque. Apart from that, most of my travel is within city, which includes crossing Ashok pillar-kodambakkam-nungambakkam.
In few lucky(!) days, I am having problem in starting the bike. Have to use choke to start. Any long term remedies for it or using choke itself is normal.

If you want long term remedy then look at getting a map sensor, programable ecu, o2 sensor, different ignition system, wiring loom, fuel injector, fuel pump, fuel press reg, return line for fuel to tank. Basically turn it into a EFI.Originally posted by danantha View PostHave to use choke to start. Any long term remedies for it or using choke itself is normal.
Or adjust your starting habit to include giving the engine some revs instead of leaving it just to idle (and stall)2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

I don't know how relevant is my incident to ur issue..but I was at the SVC the other day and a gentleman brought his 2 days old Fazer and every time he revved a little bit, there was a loud tick-tick sound coming from the engine area. The SVC manager told him to keep the bike with them for the day as they were very busy with other bikes. The SVC people had no idea what was the issue till they opened the bike.I left after a few hours,so can't comment on the outcome.Originally posted by uddiptocse View Postbro i know the the catcon sound..thats different.i am asking for the metal contact sound from the engine part..only when starting the bike first time for the day..according to you metal expansion ..i worried that my engine oil is not working so metat are contacting each other

Guys, any way by which we can adjust the height of the the head light ? its too upwards now, so not helping during night rides.
Is it a simple procedure or should i take it to SVC ?
Cheers
