I low beam, I would say that I have a very white light, very wide, and with a crisp cut "at the top", not bothering anybody in opposite direction, while giving excellent vision to a distance I would estimate something like 50 meters. In high beam, it is still the same wide and white light of course since what makes the change from low to high is a electromagnetically controlled little "mask" inside the bulb, but the range is, I reckon, a good 200meters.

Additionally, I have the blue angel eyes around the projector, and flexible LED around the bottom, giving not only a mean look but actually enough light for city riding. Cops do not stop me although I am supposed to be in low beam.

That is what it looks like (I have not taken pictures in night time). I shall replace the yellowish original little light by a bluish LED too:

That looks awesome, how much does this setup cost?

And is there any chance I could find Golden/Yellow Angel eyes. As I have the midnight special Fazer that would go along with the bikes theme rather than Blue ones..

The marker on the bike also shows signs that the brake has worn 50-60%.
Also everyday in the morning when I start riding the screeching sound is almost unbearable for the ears... A pathetic sound.
What i meant was that you may be unknowingly engaging the rear brake by putting your foot to rest on the brake pedal. It is a common mistake done unknowingly by a lot of riders. Screeching sound means that there is dirt in the drums or the brake shoes/drums might have got glazed. A good cleaning and mild sand paper treatment by the SVC guys should solve the problem.

If you can share a pic of the rear drum brake shoe's pics, it would give us all a better idea whether you should go ahead with the change or wait.

Please don't do it that way anymore.

Working in the oil and gas industry we have a lot of safety rules and regulations now. We used to see guys with missing finger tips, fingers and in some cases hands working. How did they loose their body parts? Chances are by getting caught somewhere where you shouldn't need to put your hands and fingers.

The method of chain cleaning posted above is a "quick" once over, splash on a bit of oil hoping it doesn't flick everywhere and create another mess you need to clean, But you don't actually achieve a good end result. Similar to instead of taking a shower/bath you just spray deodorant all over yourself hoping to disguise the body odor.

How can the bristles get inside, in between the links when they are moving too fast for the bristle to be able to get inside and clean?
You really shouldn't be encouraging people to put their fingers/tools close to rotating objects and Pinch Points, especially chains and sprockets. There is a reason there is a (partial) chain guard on (this) bike. To stop your body parts getting too close. I got my thumb "bitten" by the rear sprocket when cleaning the chain with a rag, I was daydreaming about something (girls most likely) and I was rubbing the chain and pushing it towards the rear sprocket when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my thumb nail!! Imagine if the wheel was spinning in 1st gear!

A safer and slightly longer way is putting your bike on the center stand and spinning the rear tyre by hand. This way you can actually see the condition of the chain, What parts are getting cleaned and where extra attention is needed to get the dirt out, Not to mention you see your tyre also, check the condition of it, any nails embedded in it you didn't see last time, condition of the rear sprocket and give that a clean too.

Then when you go to pour your lube or spray the lube, Make sure it goes on the inside of the chain ie the top section of the lower chain under the swingarm. That way when you ride your bike the centrifugal force will push the oil through instead of just flicking it off and making another mess.
You can also lube a section, skip a section, lube again and skip until you have gone around the chain, spin the chain a few times and see if the lube has make its way around.
Then before you drop the bike off the center stand get a clean rag, rub the chain soaking up excess lube that would have flicked off, getting not only yourself dirty but your bike, pillion and other riders dirty.

I'll leave you with this saying.
"Don't stick your fingers in anywhere that you wouldn't put your c0ck"
Well, Thanks for the concerns.. I appreciate that. I am fully aware of the risks involved. What can go wrong etc.
It is a quick method employed by me, have seen many videos before hand on Youtube on chain cleaning -They all take up a lot of time. I prefer risks in life (Seriously!) and this one is a very minor one. If you read my post again I have warned ppl not to employ my method.. though not in Red color. Neither this method cleans the chain well, nor it is the safest on earth but I follow it. If I can take a pic using touchscreen of mobile when my right hand is busy putting the oil on the moving part.. I can do it with ease otherwise. What I save is just 10-15 mins of my time. The same thing I do by riding fast.. Taking small risks eliminates boredom.
Will not want anyone blame me for a missing body part...
to your last line.. was wondering how to switch 'on' the lights! Thanks again for your post.

For the lights: so long, so good anyway!

One thing important is to be known about the High Intensity Discharge bulbs: they (and their ballast) just hate being switched on and off, like when using the "pass" switch, for example, which reduces tremendously their lifetime. There is no problem in the other hand in switching between low and high since it is only a small shade, or mask, that moves inside, and is made for that.
Okay, there's a really low chance that the lights are 60/55w.Though your battery isn't stock 5Amps,right? Yeah,I'm using dual beam 35w HIDs.I never use pass light after installing these.Kind of a problem, but still managing it.Never gonna be happy with halogens again.

Dude, that's just so wrong. You accept that you may loose a finger?
              Do you have any hobbies?
I know you like bikes so how about you try using a spanner without your right index finger or thumb!!!! (No thumb and ur fvcked!!)
Remember when you can only just touch a nut or bolt with your fingertip and poke it around and around to loosen or tighten it. Well try that with a different finger.

If you play guitar then surely you will know the value of your fingers. Try playing with 1 less finger
Playing with your children (or gf/wife/mistress :P ) without a finger. Holding hands with your loved ones will not be the same.
Playing PS3 or even typing, you will need to retrain your hand, sure we can adapt but for the sake of a few minutes of doing a halfassed job? You will never stop kicking yourself for doing that.

There are ways to eliminate risks and hazards, Simple measures all the way to complex ones.
I'm sorry but safety is something I strongly believe in. I've been working in the O&G for over 6yrs and I guess I'm lucky not to be one of the "oldschool" where loosing fingers, hands, toes, limbs was accepted. We get safety hammered into us daily/weekly/monthly/yearly. We get brought up in a safety culture and this gets brought back home with us when we finish work.

My best mates dad back in Perth lost a few fingers off his hand (Industrial accident). He has tremendous difficulty using spanners, screwdrivers and lost a lot of his hand strength.

The sake of a few minutes haste is not worth a lifetime of regret.
              Please reconsider mate.

Ok Ok.. will try the other method described by you.
And by the way you don't loose fingers.. you lose fingers. "loose vs lose" is interesting English which my teacher taught me.

                  • @Vimal_HBK: Nope,it doesn't stay on all the time. You need to adjust the screw which keeps it on. This job will require a few seconds.Go to SVC,they'll do it in a jiffy.

chk if your headlight switch is on the first position..... there are three positions for the headlight switch, the right most when the parking light, rear light and the headlight is off, the mid position where the parking light and the rear light is one and the left most where all the lights are ON.....

can you please tell the glow of the rear light upon turning the key was equivalent to the brake light glow or lesser then that? if it is equivalent to the brake light glow there is a screw that on the right hand side of the bike near the foot brake pedal which can be turned to change the sensitivity of the brake light upon applying the rear brake.

Guys lately I am hearing a weird sound while cornering from the tires. Is this normal or is it a indication that tire is getting old?

As you could have noticed, I am in Vietnam. Prices here would be irrelevant for India people. I could not either tell yo where to supply, of course!

Yellow color???....I have never seen. What I can ell you is that the 5000 K HID are very white, and the blue fits with them very well. M Fazer has the Midnight Special decoration as well and I do not find the blue angel eyes shocking at all, since when they a re on, it is night time!
When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

                              • I finally got my Projector and I of course had to redo the installation. Very typical the poor quality of VN installers. twist some wires, tape them up, zip tie wires and push back and damage headlight, never seal it back either!! I got home after riding in the rain and the lense was fogged over completely, not to mention small pools of water on the bottom of the reflector, The light also wasn't straight but pointing to the side!

It took me about 8hrs including time yesterday in reopening the headlight lense, removing the old sealant, removing the silver reflective coating on the reflector, Painting it matt black (hope the paint can resist the heat) re-wiring the light so I had a high beam as the installer decided I didn't need a high beam (little flap that lifts up via magnetic switch, Same as Luc's and many others here) but I'd prefer to have a blue angel eye instead....

After getting some tips and advice from another member and on FB I re wired it so my high beams are connected to my high beam switch and pass, angel eye wired with parklights, so my side blue Yammy emblems also light up.

When it stops raining here I'll take it for a ride and adjust the light.
