Even the taller 140s (140/70) kill the performance, the acceleration part, but gain s little topend and a little FE. 110 in front makes front end very heavy, but better planted. But again, low pressure will be disastrous. I'm loosing pressure heavily and if I don't fill it, bike handles worse than the P220 in corners.#RetiredRider

ignition switch getting loose
guys, facing a strange problem with my FZ16, the ignition switch screws get loose within 10days of tightning it. have always faced it. the mechanic says that front holding dandlebar and shockers has to be opened completely then only the switch can be tightened properly. anybody facing this issue. any better solution. as its is strange that to tighten the screws they need removing everything and 5 hours work.

gear shift problem!
hey guys! i just bought my beast a week ago... and im having problem with gear shifts (mostly while down shifting) after 3days of riding.. the problem is,
while shifting straight from top gear to the lowest after shifting down by one gear it gets stuck and only after i release the clutch the gears lock in place ( i hear the 'click' sound while releasing the clutch) and then the gears shift easily... this happens most of the time... in times of emergency i get stuck in the middle due to this!
and while upshifting (happens some time) i hav to give some extra force to move the lever... here the shift is not smooth...
in short >> gear shifts not smooth!!
please advise me whether i should contact the service person..

One shift at a time. For every declutch you should only perform one shift. And its normal for the gear to get stuck midways, what you do is practice by not taking force off the shifter untill the clutch is released. New bike, give it time, and also check the clutch cable tension and freeplay.and while upshifting (happens some time) i hav to give some extra force to move the lever... here the shift is not smooth...Motorcycling Experience:

Hi, Nice to hear about your new bike. It is good that you anticipate situations before changing gears. Like when you come near a speed breaker you can down shift early so that you don't have to get stuck by changing gears immediately. This method is good for both you and for your bike as it is in run-in period. When your bike reaches 3000 km, your bike's gear shifting will be butter smooth as claimed by senior people here. My bike is one month old and have run nearly 750km. Hi guys,
I have a problem coming back again. Uneven chain and sprocket wear.
I am about to complete 5000 kms with the new set. I want to if any of you guys have come across this.
What could cause uneven wear of chain and sprockets...?Your bike is a part of you....
Since Nov 2012: Pulsar 200NS
Jan 2009 to Nov 2012: Yamaha FZ18

Simple issue would be that the sprockets are'nt put in properly.
Complex issue would be worn out swingarm bushes, mis aligned rear wheel etc.Motorcycling Experience:

I tried to go down the gears from 4th back to 1st when I was stationary. Gears got jammed, I had to slowly release the clutch until it just got the friction point/when the clutch started to grab and then clutch back in, down another gear.
When you are still rolling try rev matching and downshift. (Opens can of worms, Puts on flame suit) I do it when coming to a stop. Sounds great too with a nice exhaust.
Are you going too slow to get that gear?
Check your oil level as well.
You bike is new, it sill still be tight. Give it a few hard kicks to help loosen it or get stronger leg muscles
