I have read in many reviews that some get 35-40 some get 45-50.. My baby returns me a mileage of 56kmpl on highways and 48-52 in city/my village). Though it depend on the way u ride ur bike... I never rev high.and on a constant spped of 60-65 on highways i get 56kmph. And believe me i am not joking at all.

All u need to do is -1-Never ride above 50kmph before 1st service.
    2-Gradually increase speed
3-Allow the engine to get to the required temperatue..i.e drive atleast 5km before going for high speed.
4-i change gear at 3500-4000rpm. and use clutch as less as possible.
5-Dont ride at constant spped say 40km or 60kmph. Vary ur speed.for the first 2000km.Slowly and gradually.
6-i have changed my engine oil from mineral yamalube to SEMISYNTHETIC YAMALUBE 15W-50.
7- rest ur bike after every 50 km till 3000km.

Till now i have faced only one problem i.e during long rides my engine used to get heated up. But after upgrading to semi synthetic this problem is gone.

I AM A REALLY HAPPY CUSTOMER OF YAMAHA. YES YAMAHA!!!! .

I would recommend checking the condition of the spark plug.. if it is whitish in colour then your ride is running on a leaner AFR tuning of the Carb. 56 kmpl is a bit too much according to what i can understand. You don't have to rest your bike every 50 kms, i have done 500 kms in a day non - stop and she was just fine. I suspect leaner tuning hence, engine over heating. I am not sure whether your model year came with the detuned carb..

    Just a suggestion.

    cheers,

Please avoid using huge fonts and red colours.. it is considered rude and against the forum rules. Anyways 5 fuse blowing up can be associated with:

        1) Any extra electrical mods that you may have done including head light or rear tail light mods which is putting too much load on the electrical system
        2) Current leaking through some point or short circuit. So you will have to get the electrical wiring and harness checked.
        3) Check the power output from the alternator.

Other senior riders may fill in if i have missed out on something.

        Cheers,

The bike has ODOed 700 km. 300 kms left to complete engine break-in period so that I can rip her atleast 65km/hr to overtake some teasers. I'm going to change Motul Mineral oil as you have mentioned at 1K ODO.

                    1. Manual says if you change the oil filter then the oil must be poured 1.1 l but when I buy the bottle I will get on 1l and not 1.1 l. So should I buy an extra oil?

                    2. Some DIY guy told in DIY thread that when installing a new oil filter, you must soak the oil filter as written in the manual. I haven't seen this part in my manual but even if I have to soak then soak in what????

                    3. When engine oil was changed, they changed the gasket of the drain bolt and also they changed something connected to oil filter ( I can specify that later if you want, as I don't have bill with me now) both costed Re. 1 or 2 each. Should I change all these things again when I pour engine oil and change oil filter?

                    • No need for 1.1L, 1 L is fine.

Bro, engine breakin is not alweyz 1000kms. ask mad mik about the details. just try not to rev toomuch for too long during the 1st 2000kms.. motul mineral and yamalube mineral are the same as yamalube is manufactured by motul. i would suggest wait till 2nd service and change to SS yamalube. No need to buy extra oil. 1 lt is enough. if u change the oil filter then just after the oil filter is inserted and oil poured and is ready to ride....dont just ride. wait for some time. let the engine idle... allow the new oil to heat up and then ride. soaking is not required...

Soaking is very much recommended. Else you have to fill the bike and keep it for a long time to get the filter wet and start circulation.
