Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Not good as motul.. But they are cheap and value for money.. Buy in least quantity.. About 250ml or something.. I have used that.. Ok product. Now i m using w140 gear oil with frequent cleaning.. That works good in my caseOriginally posted by ackinbiker View Posthey, guys the place where i m living, shops do not have Motul chain lube, all they have is Rolon chain lube.
so is rolon chain lube good? please tell me your reviews about rolon.

Loose cone set will have such an issue. Get it tightened.Originally posted by snehith View PostMy fzs has clocked around 20,000 km.Changed the tyres recently.my bike starts wobbling after crossing 65kmph.I've gone to the svc n they say there's a problem with the front tyre and no problem with the bike.got the front tyre replaced again but it still wobbles.the svc guys are not able to solve it.what may be the reason for the wobble? anyone experienced it?The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I have removed the air filter cap (above the air filter element)
. Throttle Response is quick, sharp, and exhaust note is punchy, and I feel acceleration is marginally improved
.
Does it make anything wrong in long term....??
Local mechanic said, nothing will happen except the air filter will last 5k rather than 12k kms.
Thanks for reading...Regards

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
It is economic to use kerosene/diesel to clean the chain and then lubricate it with Gear oil (EP-90) or Motul Chain lube (it is less messy).Originally posted by ackinbiker View Postwhat to use for cleaning the chain?
=> motul chain cleaner
=> petrol
=> kerosene
=> diesel
please advice guys, as this is my first bike?

There is no specified way to know on when the air-filter will give you, be it 5k or 12k. Since you have remove the cover, make sure you clean the air-filter more often (~500kms) or else be ready for a choked bike.Originally posted by saikatbyte View PostLocal mechanic said, nothing will happen except the air filter will last 5k rather than 12k kms.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Tha air filter will dance when you pass over rough patch or road, during that time there are chances of the Air Filter jumping from it's slot and remain that way. This will harm the engine with unfiltered air entering the cylinder.Originally posted by saikatbyte View PostI have removed the air filter cap (above the air filter element)

Don't use Motul as it dries out faster.Originally posted by ackinbiker View Posthey, guys the place where i m living, shops do not have Motul chain lube, all they have is Rolon chain lube.

I was using Motul but now using TribCor. It is available with online websites like Amazon, eBay & Snapdeal.
Hi Kartik,Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostI have got an misaligned chain even though the rear wheel is properly aligned. With both side having the same number of marks & position. I also tried refitting the front sproket but even that didn't help. How to align chain?
Can you share the photo?
Double check the markings on the swingarm on both the sides. Check the axle.Last edited by abhijitkn; 12-01-2015, 09:06 PM.
