Thanks to shv18 and raj157 for the suggestions

Now I'm facing the below issue but couldn't figure out the root cause.

For the past one week, when I release the clutch its taking sometime (around 5 secs) to respond (accelerate) and also the engine sound is bit different. I'm afraid of revving the ride, just maintaining below 5k...

Please let me know the root cause so that I will add it to my Maintenance list before going to SVC.

    Thanks in advance.
Your clutch plates have gone kaput... time for replacing them... costs around Rs. 700-800/-

      Hi Shv18

I changed clutch assembly only at 15k.. I attached the receipt.

Is it possible that the clutch plate will wear within 5k km?

        Cheers,
@ shiv18, Recommend interval around 7-10k kms, What do you mean by that? To use system-G from first 7k-10k kms and again 17k-20k kms, so on......?

Another question, as you said not to keep the petrol level below reserve, how do you check the mileage then? Can I check the mileage from blink to blink using trip meter, ie. when petrol starts blinking I set the trip to zero and then calculate again at the next blink after petrol is being poured and the vehicle has run.

        Thank You

If checking by reserve to reserve, never trust the blink

Once you hit reserve (you change mains to reserve/bike starts coughing) reset trip meter, fill up, again till it hit reserve, check the reading and calculate the mileage. (Reserve to reserve wont be as accurate as Brim to brim)

Brother. Please don't worry . Just go for the normal servicing and ask the mechanic to do a clutch plate check up . Even i feel that the clutch plates needs to be changed . And as you have mentioned that is almost 20000kms... and you have changed it at 15k. Its sometimes possible that the clutch plates wear out due to either constant use of clutch or due to rough use.... please get it checked at a good SC.... and take a test ride of minimum 5-8 kms before taking delivery...... And keep us informed about the status..

If you "ride" (partly engage while taking off from start too long) the clutch you can burn it out within a few kms. Depending on of course how badly you "ride" the clutch.

Use the wrong oil in wet clutch = burnt clutch.
residual oil/grease on the friction surface = excess slipping which generates heat which glazes over/burns the clutches out.

Improper clutch cable adjustment. If the cable is too "tight" and not allowing the clutch to engage fully then it will constantly slip.

Its very easy to burn clutches. They are designed to grip but some slipping is always there to allow for smooth take ups.

Easy way to test if clutch is worn in both bike and car.
                Go approx 40kph.
                Select the tallest gear 4-5-6.
                floor/twist the throttle wide open.

If the vehicle jerks, bucks, behaves very roughly then clutches are gripping.

If the vehicle's engine rpm's go up without much change in road speed then clutch/es are slipping.

                • gn.times- Brother. Mik informed about a quite interesting experiment to check clutch slipage. And i think the same thing is happening to you i.e the vehicle's engine rpm's go up without much change in road speed so.... clutch/es are slipping.. Plz get it checked as soon as possible.

Yup it is possible.. like and Mad Mik and others have pointed out.. if you have been riding your bike mostly on half clutch may be unknowingly, the clutch plates will get shot in a very short span.. In my case, i am still on stock clutch plates for over 22, 000 kms and they are running fine..

The Second question has already been answered. Yes the recommended interval is 7-10,000 kms. You don't have to regularly use system G whenever you fill fuel in the tank.. not needed!! do it after clocking 5000 kms on the odo.

Since my car has already done 5K ODO, I'm going to use this regularly with the car but I'm completely confused about the once in bluemoon thing.

What about a little Google search for the expression "once in a blue moon"

How does this mod affect battery life? Will you be needing to replace the battery more often since you have a bigger engine now?

as my weekly diving condition is about 180 to 250 km per week and offen change my engine oil in 1300km to 1500km or in one month ..

                            Whats wrong with your engine?
                            Have the rings worn out?
If the engine is still ok then leave it, Otherwise it would be wise to replace block, piston, cam, chain, bearings, oil pump, etc.
