Take this discussion offline or to Joel's thread.

Please check the thread below. Would request all the new comers to kindly go through the thread once before posting the query. incase you find it too boring or a cumbersome process.. type the query on google followed by typing xbhp.

Also one can fill Ride On TPS.. same has been discussed extensively on this thread.

Usually it is Aramex or DTDC... please be patient.. the wait is worth it... One advise.. run the ride with the DB killer for the first 2000 kms.. the sound will die down and become bit more smoother...

              • Hi guys

                Help me out please....

                1. How to check whether FRONT FORKS are functioning properly or not?

                2. I'm getting "keeeech.." sound every time I apply front brake and bike comes to standstill (not while slowing down) even at very slow speeds.
Is it due to disc brake pads kaput??

                Thanks in advance.

1- if the front forks are playing properly i.e moving up and down smoothly, and if there is no oil leakage...be assured that the spring inside and the forks are perfect.
2 as its rainy season....sometimes you may hear the sound.. and if its not raining then just take out the pads .. clean the pads... keeeeech sound may also happen when the pads are worn out or if they are dirty..

                  • Hi all,

Secondly I want to know what are the factory settings for the Carburator Air fuel screw, I mean how many turns it need to get the optimum performance & FE from the stop. As per the service manual (workshop manual) it should be +- 3 turn from stop. My bike used to run in 3 turns, is there any good settings for the carb needed, lastly should I clean the carb now as it is already 10.5 k in the odo?
                    Thanks in advance.

If your ride is performing fine and giving good FE then there is absolutely no need to mess around with the settings. There is a drain bolt if I remember correctly.. Ask the svc guys to open it and if there are and dirt and deposits it will come out. Besides that use System G once.. 5 ml per 10ltrs of fuel (light dosage) compared to 1 ml per ltr not needed for our bikes...

It will clean up any dirt and grime inside the tank and fuel lines and also in the process clean up the carb... Would recommend doing two tank fulls with it and then after every 5000 kms... Will keep the engine internals super clean.

I have not even got the tappets set since the last 20,000 kms as the SVC head had periodically checked my bike and found the tappets and cam timing chain to be working perfectly..

On a personal note would request other senior riders to fill in on this one.. Does one need to constantly check on cam chain tension.. Coz so far I have no experienced any problem whatsoever on this.. I don't have prior knowledge on this would request Luke and Mik to fill in and Abhimanyu31 is following the thread would request him to fill in a few liners on this one as well..

Wont happen like that. Since the petroleum deposits are sticky they stick to the carb bowl, so best thing to do it open the bowl and clean it manually. 10 Min Job.

The sound doesnt come if just move the wheel in neutral gear with main stand on, but while driving the chain makes a tak tak tak noise. What could be the possible causes and what should I check? Might be cause the chains overtightened.

Thanks for the reply mate. No the chain is not over tightened. Even I thought the same earlier and tried with various settings like normal, loose, superloose, tight and supertight as well, but ended in vain. Thinking of replacing the whole chain sprocket set. Can u tell me the price of the whole set.. Thanks.
