i tried switching off and on...but it dint help.....i also filled fuel for rs 500 but the meter aint working........wil the svc guys replace it??Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostIt happens sometimes but if you switch off and on again it should fix itself. You might have carbon build up on the sensor... this had happened to me. Get the service guys to check it.

Don't know. They didn't replace mine. I guess even if they do need to replace, its under warranty (check the manual to confirm though) And as a plus all the mileage you've done so far will be wiped outOriginally posted by romil_joshi06 View Posti tried switching off and on...but it dint help.....i also filled fuel for rs 500 but the meter aint working........wil the svc guys replace it??

if the svc are not able to repair it and the bike is in warranty the have to replace the meter and if they are saying no drop a mail to yamaha itself they are very helpful in matters like this or give the yamaha people a call....Originally posted by raulsmile89 View Postummm ..it always Blinks..for me Bike..

what is the average life of the chain spocket i went to a mechanic to take care of my loose chain and he told me that the spocket needs to be replaced when i took the bike to the SVC he did not check the bike but told me that since i clocked 17000 kms it might be a possiblity and said the cost would be 1150 plus 300 as the labor charge. is this information true.As I gaze upon your beauty, I think to myself, "never have I seen an angel fly so low".

Nothing to worry about its just a cable thing or loose connection... i had that problem once for weeks... but once i took my bike for an air blast wash and after that it was working fine and it still is... its just a loose connection somewhere just try to locate the point where the cable or something has come off... its a 2 minute job take it to the dealer... hell fix it with his hand no need any tools!!Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postif the svc are not able to repair it and the bike is in warranty the have to replace the meter and if they are saying no drop a mail to yamaha itself they are very helpful in matters like this or give the yamaha people a call....WHo says you need a woman to feel what a ride is like???... get a bike instead!!! ***Honda Hornet**

Service guys said it's 15k km and mine started making kinda sound at that time and I ordered mine and got it yesterday, but still running on original with no issues. It's not slipping or clicking, occasional sound when dry. I've too have done almost 17k km on original set and it seems it will last a lot. I've the new chain set with me as backup. Cost 1137 for the full set.Originally posted by fusioncoast View Postwhat is the average life of the chain spocket i went to a mechanic to take care of my loose chain and he told me that the spocket needs to be replaced when i took the bike to the SVC he did not check the bike but told me that since i clocked 17000 kms it might be a possiblity and said the cost would be 1150 plus 300 as the labor charge. is this information true.#RetiredRider

The same thing happened to me. The fault was the cable joints. It is a common problem for FZ platform.Originally posted by venomafiax View PostNothing to worry about its just a cable thing or loose connection... i had that problem once for weeks... but once i took my bike for an air blast wash and after that it was working fine and it still is... its just a loose connection somewhere just try to locate the point where the cable or something has come off... its a 2 minute job take it to the dealer... hell fix it with his hand no need any tools!!
In my case, the joint present under the right part of the fuel tank was causing the problem.Others who are experiencing the same problem may check it to sort out their problem..Rider for Life.

Guys,
My chain has gone loose and the SVC guy said its at the end of its adjustment (means cannot be tightened any more and needs to be replaced). So I procured a chain for the FZ. Now, please tell me if I have to change the sprocket set as well - what are the disadvantages of running with the current set?
Thanks in advance
