I mean a bike which has been wrecked beyond repair and replaced for the owner, but with an intact engine. It should be cheaper to get one than getting a second hand R15 or a new one.

They will be sold for scrap value. Brand new total loss Unicorn was available for under 5k was on offer to a frnd wrking in one of the insurance companies. Estimated cost for restoration was about 15k by a local mech.

Total loss R15's might be easy to source as lots of kiddies are crashing them. I've seen lot of them waiting for insurance claim at Hilton Yamaha, mostly head on crashes.

if that is the case it might be feasible... but wont the gear box create a problem??? if we want a higher performing fz it will be better if we change the gearbox also...

Yeah, obviously... why settle for a 5 speed when you can have 6 Basically swapping the entire drive train into the FZ. Few issues I see coming up though apart from obviously fitting the thing in... how would you do final drive given the significant size difference in wheels :/ Also where would you mount that radiator

i dont think fitting will be a problem because basically we will be swapping the whole power plant with the new one... and the radiator can be mounte by welding some iron strips on the chassis under the tank beneath the headlight...

I dont know if it is a real 250 or not, but the yam does look damn good.
the engine is the same stock engine... lol... if you notice the circle like cover thing that is covering the empty space where on a normal FZ its where the carburetor is with the reserve switch on the other side... thats just a circle plastic cover and it makes no sense as to what it does in the functioning of the engine. The circle at the bottom along the foot break is where the crank is normally to my knowledge (correct me if wrong) and connects to the drive shaft. It just doesn't make sense and if you notice carefully you'll see the normal 150CC engine block with the air cooling vents behind all those plastic covers.... but whatever said its a good looks like 250cc mod.. but unfortunately its not

Tachometer is the meter that shows the engine speed...and the red line is where the engines rotates the fastest...its recommended not to play around that area for long

and about the fuel knob...well its clearly marked "ON" "RESERVE" and "OFF"...just bend over and check it out

If u mean the red indicator in the display it is the engine error indicator.. though i am not completely aware of its complete potential i hav been advised not to start the engine unless the red light on the indicator is off..

if it was the one i tachometer u meant then Ranjith's reply in spot on

                                Thanks a lot mate
i think the machine is spot on then... i thus feel the throttle response is a bit down..
honestly i felt bad only cos the other FZs on the street jus speed of swiftly n more importantly smoothly.. especially while startin from the signal break
i hope the things should be fine after the 1 service
