got my fz
Got my fz-16 on 16th oct. Did 220 km in 2 days. I have one doubt that I did not get any tools in the fz, while my friend's dazzler has tools below the seat. Does fz-16 comes without tools. And manual has very less detail about bike, just some servicing pages.Current - 2014 Honda CBR650F, 2007 Honda CBR600RR
Previous - 2012 Yamaha FZ16, 2003 Hero Honda Splendour, 2003 Yamaha Crux-R

Time to break free
Now why did Yamaha have to go and do this? :-/Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Posti think they have changed the manual... at the svc i also saw a manual with nothing more than a couple of pages and service leaflets....
Its a very weird method of cost cutting if thats what they are trying :-/
The toolkit should be there.. if it isnt u shud pull up ur dealer and demand that he provides u with one. Atrocious behavior!Originally posted by singh_punit View PostGot my fz-16 on 16th oct. There really is no need for it.. u dont want to panic-brake and end up locking ur rear wheel in a hurry :-/Originally posted by Yamaha FZ View Posthave anybody tried rear disk brake on this bike? I am willing to get this done on my one month old beast. So is it recommended?
DUDE!!! So many miles in so little time! This can only mean heavy duty touring.Originally posted by speedyk View Postmine has done 45K in 10 mnths
Tell me something.. Is the seat comfortable enough for long distance riding? I kinda have this fear about going out for very long distances on the FZ fearing the fatigue that might set in and make the tour a task instead of a fun activity which it is meant to be.Last edited by s_and_m; 10-19-2010, 03:27 AM.

have done around 225kms in a day twice with a pillion and there was some pain in my a** apart from that I didnt feel anything out of place..... I think for heavy touring one should go for a more spongy seat or take a pillow with youOriginally posted by s_and_m View PostDUDE!!! So many miles in so little time! I have given my Fazer for the 4th free today. Will get it back tomorrow. While over there they added change of oil filter to the job list. I pointed out to them the filter was to be changed only every 10k km, so the guy at Excellent told me that they change it at every service because of the conditions in Mumbai. I told him I hardly use the bike so leave everything as is... saved Rs 220 >.>

Friction?where?
During the first servicing they will change the oil,oil filter, tighten the screws,Lube the chains
Do check that while washing the bike they are not using detergent. They usually clean the bike with detergent and cloth.
Using cloth may leave scratches on the body panel of the bike.
usage of detergent while cleaning the bike is not advisable, use mild shampoo(clinic +) insteadSpeak Less,Speak Wise!

Are you sure that's the oil filter?! I got mine changed at Rs. 55 from the Yamaha Probiking SVC at the factory outlet in Bombay.Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostYes. They're supposed to change it at the first service and then subsequently every 10,000 km. It's not expensive given the service interval.Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

hey samarth I got my oil filter at SVC for just Rs. 60. By the way do change the oil filter also while changing oil. It improves the gear shifting and performance. Try it!Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostI have given my Fazer for the 4th free today. Will get it back tomorrow. While over there they added change of oil filter to the job list.
