As far as I know, the fuel knob acts as an intermediate between the fuel tank and the engine. Therefore generally there's a small amount of fuel that has already crossed the knob position(there are fuel pipes everywhere). So even after turning it off that small amount of fuel will gradually run into the engine.hence you may ride some distance before the engine starts choking..Rider for Life.

true...actually i forget to switch it on generally...n realise after the engine chokes...a few days back the same thing happened..it choked after about having run for a couple of kms or so...bt at that time it was with the stock spark plug...so i guess the knob was working perfectly then...neways...tomorrow i would run it (in the OFF condition as it is) till the engine chokes...lets c for how long it sustains...if it does another 25kms...den i wud take her to the SVC...bt if it chokes suppose after having done 5kms or anything below 25...wht would b your take on dat...Originally posted by deville_56 View Postif an iridium plug can make fz run 25 with 4km wrth petrol then wat will be the mileage of the iridium clad FZ???

Thanks for your inputs,
Also i would like to mention here that I am changing the stock out exhaust on my FZS which is silver in color to the full black version that is now on the newest FZS's.The yamaha spares guys told me it would cost around 300 but they have not recd the stock yet.I think a full black one would look fabulous.your comments on this guys?
Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Posti dont remember what used to happen initially with my clutch but I was advised by many to not to use olf half clutch but full to change the gear as half clutch takes a toll on the gear box in the long run....
maybe the new owners can help you out here...
btw mine works on half clutch no problems....
