Yeah do it for every 5000 kms of your run. Do a full tank of petrol and add system-G 5 ml per litre of petrol. This is what Shiv recommends. Please google search with System-G and xbhp + FZ-16. Surely you will get all the informationOriginally posted by kilometerkiller View Post

no the issue is only within the 3-4k rpm range.... will get the carb checked though....Originally posted by lalitp View PostDo you face same issue at higher RPMs? I had same issue with my SZ-R when I asked SVC to OH the cerb, the only thing was i was getting jerks (As if it is going in reserve) after 7.5K to 8K RPM, the AFR mixture was leaner.
I would suggest you to check the setting of AFR screw.

Immediately check the engine oil level.if it is ok, i somehow suspect that water has seeped in the tank. do get the tank cleaned once thoroughly.. and system G to get rid of dirt in fuel lines. Also do get the carb tuning checked once as well.Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postvibrating like anything... specifically from handle bar.....
@Jonahmano: i would recommend 1ml per ltr or 10ml per 10 ltrs after having a word with Iftex representative judging the fuel conditions prevailing in india. Do two tank fulls along with System G.. you will immediately feel the difference in engine smoothness.. after that the next service.. use the drain mechanism in the carb to flush out gum, varnish and gunk out of it..

Erm.. thats why i have specifically mentioned while gunning the ride or when going for a thrashing session? if one is doing that, i am sure one is also aware that at that point of time it is all about extracting performance and not mileage.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostI'm not sure about this, but gear change at 6k RPMs would result in some mileage drop?
@ All: This was my gift to my sweet ride since she turned 6 months old...I think it looks cool. Mods on the way...
- 4300k HIDs with LED pilots
- LED indicators (Custom made, but worried about the high blinking rate) Any idea how to reduce that?

I am not sure if the current models come with 5 amps batt.. would recommend to go for higher amp batt like 9amps.. it will easily take on any additonal electrical load that you may want to do with your bike without any problem.

The LED indicators will always have that problem, regardless of power supply or battery. If u open one indicator bulb and turn on the blinker on that side, the BCU will sense one of the bulbs is blown and will start blinking the other bulb at a much higher rate.So the BCU thinks that the low wattage of LEDs as blown lamps and hence the higher rate of blinking.Resistors also cannot rectify it.Originally posted by shv18 View PostErm.. thats why i have specifically mentioned while gunning the ride or when going for a thrashing session? if one is doing that, i am sure one is also aware that at that point of time it is all about extracting performance and not mileage.

Cheers,
Maybe will keep it stock only,as a faster blinking indicator would look faulty.
Suggest a good helmet in white colour plz.Interested in LS2 range.Humble budget of 3.5k.Are VEGA motocross helmets as comfortable as LS2 or Yohe? My girl says I look good in Vega, but I want a full mask helmet. I have seen a guy using a Ninja 3g lid,but don't know about price/comfort.

There is no BCU in FZ. Indicator flasher is load dependent. It needs 10W+10W+a little more W to flash properly. Any change in load=change in flash rate/or no flash. For LED setup, add a low value 10W resistor at each indicator end or get a local indicator flasher (most of them won't detect load). Ok, Thanks but confused about when to use drain mechanism in carb? Local Indicator Flasher? Where do I get that? How much is the price of it? Do I need to put a PCB with the resistor in each indicator? Or just the LED bulb with resistor?Originally posted by deville_56 View PostThere is no BCU in FZ. Indicator flasher is load dependent. It needs 10W+10W+a little more W to flash properly. Regarding Fuel system cleaners..
My four wheeler has lost some acceleration, though its top end is intact. Completed 30,000 Km service on it. This is an exhaustive service interval and everything is cleaned, replaced, serviced. Spark plugs replaced, fuel filter replaced, throttle body cleaned.. Fuel injectors were cleaned in a very crude way - dipped in petrol for 30 mins and cleaned by throttle body spray.
My problem persisted. I went on to the company website - and found out what they prescribe as fuel injector cleaner.
Here is the list - Additives
Went back to the SVC to source some. But could'nt find a single one listed.
After searching found this STP fuel injector and Carb cleaner. Immediately took it and poured half a bottle in the cars tank (around 30 L).. Results awaited!!
But, placed around 50 ml in my Fazer's fuel tank (Bike is 10K old and never did a carb cleaning. As STP is a carb cleaner too thought it would avoid me going to the SVC). Have used 5L of this treated fuel and one thing i noticed is that the bike is starting without me giving it slight throttle.. So my 5-6 seconds of continous cranking (without giving throttle) has become just one crank. Apart from that no other benefit. I am reaching 70 K at 5000 rpms still!! So no other effect.
Why I wrote this story??
1) Do not expect it would do wonders
2) Do not use it on new bikes. These cleaners have some lubricating stuff which lubricates the walls of the combustion chamber. Not recommended for engine doing BREAKIN.
3) See the prescription from the Hyundai website - 30,000 Kms or Two years! (For your first usage)
What is this STP composed of -
75-100% Kerosene,
5-10% Petroleum Oil. and other stuff.
http://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/files/...2f23ee6dfd.pdf and http://www.armoredautogroup.com/pdf/...86-2011%29.pdf
The oil is highlighted coz it is the mineral engine oil we use on the other side of the combustion chamber.
Same would be the composition of System G. It looks blue!! which is the color of Kerosene in India. My STP is colorless.. May be kerosene is transparent in the US (just as it was in India some 20-25 years ago!) And even if SystemG is colorless, it would still have kerosene. I Bet on It!! And if it is alcohol based - stop using it immediately! Read about alcohol based fuel additives. I bought STP as it is alcohol free!
I am not scaring you guys.. just be careful with the frequency and quantity you pour!!Last edited by muztariq; 08-14-2012, 12:14 AM.

Cut a PCB, arrange LEDS. Connect 4 LEDs and a 100 ohm resistor in series and connect all the 4 LED+resistor combo in parallel. Unpin one of the Indicator connector plugs of each indicator, and connect a 10W resistor in between (any value, lower the better, this confuses the flasher that there is a 10W load at the end).Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostLocal Indicator Flasher? local flasher available in most 2 wheeler spare shop. They won't have the wattage rating labels, good ones will have 21x2 or 10x2 marked on them. They will cost around 80 bucks. if it is available, then no need of 10W resistor.#RetiredRider

what is the confusion? i said clearly post two tank fulls with system G and in the upcoming service drain out the dirt.. i believe that is clear enough.. Iftex recommends using System G every 5-10,000 kms interval..Originally posted by jonahmano View PostOk, Thanks but confused about when to use drain mechanism in carb? @Muztariq: i am not sure about the composition but system G is recommended by Ford in all its petrol variants in India. It also can be used for Carb based engines and on 4stroke two wheelers. Every time ones goes for a fill up it is not required to use system G all the time. There are no lubricating properties with System G.. it just removes gum and dirt deposits from the tank, carb and the fuel lines and from Injectors in FI engine's case..
ideal time to use this is post 5000 kms of mileage on your respective ride's ODO.
@All: System G is not an octane booster like Muztariq has mentioned. It doesnot increase the power of the bike..It is only a cleaning agent... One finds the engine to be running smoother and cranking easily as the fuel system is free of any dirt or gum which hinders free flow of fuel from the tank to the ignition chamber.
@Speedykol: please post your query at helmets thread.. they will provide you instant response. Personally, would recommend the one with a clear visor.

I want to keep the stock reflectors intact. Anyway: when the lights are on, would it be only the angle eyes, which is something one has....at night: they become totally invisible!Originally posted by SpeedyKol View Post@Lucky Luke: Love ur headlamps.Make the stock reflectors black,it will look much cooler,IMO.
Those white LED bars look cool...I have been trying to source them but can't explain/find the product in the market. What exactly are those called?Did u fit those inside the headlamp housing? Is it available in India except in Audi A6 and A8?
I don't know the specific name of the white LED strips...??!!?? Google will certainly get you quick answer.
I cannot tell you if it is available in India, bro: look: I am in Vietnam!
When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!
