Dear it might be meter console problem as you told earlier because today my friend checked the electrical contact of meter assembly and also the pinion on the wheel and he says both are working fine. The meter died exactly after running 100 kms and again it came to life after 35 kms. Now it's running fine but as you said it must be faulty meter but if go to svc guys I know they won't do this immediately, I think I need to ride the babe without meter for some days. I doubt if they would replace the meter on ready stock. Just thinking what to do. Should I wait for some more time. And about the krrr sound which I have told you, my friend and I couldn't hear anything as he rode alone without the helmet and when he found no extra sound, I accompanied him and it was very difficult to filter out into our ears the krr sound because there was so much wind and he says everything is normal but when returning home, as I was wearing helmet I could hear a odd krrr sound apart from chain sprocket sound and the engine sound. just confused with my blessed ears. Hope everything is normal as you told me.

If all this is confirmed change of bore and piston with rings is the solution for it.
thanks bro.. will check that... however the oil was changed by him at his home on his own.. and its castrol power 1 (gold colour bottle)

I am surprised to see 5 ml of your SystemG is sufficient for a 10 litre. May be you are miscalculating!!
Bro Actually System G is recommended for all petrol cars, jeeps of indian and imported make. but it can also be used in bikes.. The recommended dose is 1ml per liter. so as per shiv ,he is right 10ml for 10lt. There is a dedicated Additive for petrol 4 stroke and 2 stroke bikes and scooters. Its called System 23. The recommended dose is 2ml per liter. so for 10lts its 20ml.
        Hope this helps ...

          Hi,

the dosage i have recommended 1ml per ltr or in our case 10ml for 10ltr stands true and is recommended by the Iftex.

the reason i quoted it to be a severe dosage thanks to my interaction with one of the representatives from Iftex,, they recommend the severe dosage because of the current fuel conditions prevailing in India.. Other wise under ideal conditions 5ml per 10 ltr would be moe than enough.. As far as my experience goes.. since i would recommend putting this along with the fuel every 5000 kms .. one single bottle will last quite a few kms.. regular filling up of System G is not needed.. others may disagree or may have different views. So in such case, i would recommend putting severe dosage.

          cheers,

Well i am unable to pinpoint the problem with your description.. so let me put it this way:

            1) if in the meter console: The ODO readings and the trip meter readings went back to 0 from whatever earlier logs they had registered so far then yes i would highly recommend getting the console replaced.

            2) If the readings just simply stopped registering for a few days and then was back to normal after sometime (from what i can understand reading your posts) then the console is fine.. most likely a lose connection. All once has to do is to disconnect the cable and then reinstall it and tighten the nuts and bolts and do a test run.. if all is hunky dory then there is nothing to worry about.. all is well.

            3) The so called sound you are so concerned about is nothing to be concerned about at the first place. Once one gets attuned to the bike and has a tendency to look for faults even at a slightest sound is not wise.. when i said she would give you signs before giving you trouble doesn't necessarily meant going crazy over every detail .. She is a mechanical device and will provide you proper signs without fail.. you need to enjoy your ride more then getting worried about every minute thing..

Chill and take her out for the pending long ride,, understand the true potential of your ride which is in cornering.. she is an absolute fun.. understand braking techniques on highways... i believe pointing your focus on that direction will really serve you well..

            Cheers,

In India (since 99% of you are Indians): I would consider that the much lower cost big bore+ FFE + a few other goodies offered by Race Concepts are certainly worth is too.

To use uncertain parts from Indonesia, get a lot of successive modifications to come to a good, but of unknown reliability bike, would make it not worth it, definitely!
Do let us know if you need any help in sourcing out levers and any other OEM parts related to your ride.. can ship it to you.. you can wire transfer the amount+shipping if you are in urgent need of any of parts that are not available in your country.. I am not sure though if the Vitenamses customs will slap a ridiculous amount of tax on the spares.. you will have to check on that.

Yes, at the moment i would agree RC is currently providing very reliable parts for hot roding.. and it is certainly affordable even by Indian standards..

              Cheers,

I'm not sure about this, but gear change at 6k RPMs would result in some mileage drop?

Yeah, it is just as you mentioned in point #2. And my friend checked for loose connections. He checked both the electrical connection (connector near headlight assembly) and the mechanical (pinion) and found out both were working fine. After he done all that, the meter didn't came to life but surprisingly after I reached home riding almost 20kms and on next ride it came back to life. I'll describe you the way it came back to life: First it showed some reading then again went 0 and again it showed some reading, this happened three times and after that it came back to life. Now the meter is working fine and if I go to SVC with this condition, I know they'll just send me back. So waiting for the meter to get dead again

                      3) The so called sound you are so concerned about is nothing to be concerned about at the first place. I'll believe you. For the time being I'll take this as normal because all this are normal according to my friend and he says my bike is on top condition now

                      • My bike is jerking under hard acceleration at 3-4k rpm in all the gears.... any ideas? any particular reason?

Had it serviced 2 weeks back, the mechanic did clean the carb, and fork had to be realligned due to a recent spill....

Jerking Means----- Is it vibrating in 3 to 4k rpm or do you feel like any blockage in the air filter.

                              Hi,

I have never heard of a petroleum detergent before I read about them in this thread few replies back.

About System G & FTP Fuel Treatment, I was just wondering if they should be added to the fuel whenever we fill Petrol or it's ok to add once in a while (Like any specific time period between doses).

Also, kindly enlighten about the performance difference we get by using these.

Do you face same issue at higher RPMs? I had same issue with my SZ-R when I asked SVC to OH the cerb, the only thing was i was getting jerks (As if it is going in reserve) after 7.5K to 8K RPM, the AFR mixture was leaner.

I would suggest you to check the setting of AFR screw.

                                Cheers!
