It's better you buy another bottle of oil and keep a check on the engine oil level say, every 100 km. As far as my experience you need bit more oil when you change the filter also though it is debatable I suggest you to always check the level and always keep it above the half level because yours is new bike, so it is better you treat her well.Originally posted by arijitmaniac View Post

No, I was talking about some Carb seal/valve (dont know the exact thing) which was found busted during my last service at Kamla. Rakesh suggested that I continue till it creates any major issues. And those major issues started now. Exactly 1 month after the service.Originally posted by shv18 View PostWould recommend that you get your tank cleaned once as well and then start using System G on two full tanks. Most likely i feel water might have seeped in the tank thanks to monsoons.
If you are getting the front shocks checked then i would recommend checking the availability of the rubber seals with Imtiaz first. They cost around 280-300 bucks INR if i remember correctly. If your ride has already done more than 15,000 kms on the seals since, last change then i would highly suggest that you should get the front shock oil and seals replaced regardless.. Mumbai weather is a major culprit which accelerates the oxidising of the fork oil and also making the fork seal rubber hard. If you notice black deposits of dust and oily sticky material on the front fork then the seals have become very weak and will start leaking soon. Kamla Yamaha should have Motul Fork oil in Stock.
ask them to grease and tightened the coneset as well.
Cheers,
These guys have very good knowledge and identify the root cause perfectly.
Done 33K Kms till date and fork seals were replaced at ~30K Kms. So just thinking of getting the cone set checked. Also planning to get the Brake oil replaced with DOT 4.

Keeps the engine clean and healthy.. if your ride is over 10,000 kms old.. then start ups will become easier.. throttle response significantly smoother.. it is not an octane booster so don't expect it to increase power. you will have to fill two sachets of 10ml..1ml per ltr. Do two tank fulls along with system G and that is enough. After say 1000 kms or the next upcoming service ask the svc or your trusted mech to open the drain cap of the carb and remove the varnish collected.Originally posted by sxrmafia View PostI brought a sachet of System - G @ Rs. 13 (10ml) , Has anyone here tried that before ? what have your experiences been with the product.

Just check whenever you sit on your ride.. do you sometimes get a smell of petrol even without switching the engine ON or keeping the Fuel knob OFF? If so then it is time to get the tank cleaned once and a dosage of System G will clean up rest of the dirt from the fuel lines.
Good to know that Rakesh and the rest of the gang are still keeping the overall work culture to top notch. Carb seal/valve? possible.
If you have done just 3k with the new seals and fork oil then the root cause are the coneset rings.. greasing and tightening should do the trick. Kamla Yamaha doesnot have DOT4 in stock if i remember.. they have DOT3.. DOT4 is better if you do a lot of highway rides as DOT3 has a lower boiling temperature.

Told u buddy... shooting a mail works....Originally posted by jonahmano View PostDear it's India. Everywhere it's like that. new vehicles are left to rust in hot sun and rain till the buyer owns it. Feels very sad on them but what to do? it's India. Nobody wants to care and even Yamaha. All want to make money. With the new Yamaha scooter going to get launched, I don't know how they will accomodate more place for scooters and also manage the service.
The service personnel attitude will be just like that because they don't have time. Very less space, very less parts available on stock, very few service personnel on duty and too many bikes daily thronging on with different problems.
If they were really honest and check exactly each thing as according to the manual then it wouldn't have any loss for us even if we would have paid for each free service. Unfortunately that does not happen in India because we are Indians we always like short-cuts.
I was after them from two weeks to get my speedometer sensor replaced and if I'd believed these service guys then surely it would have taken ages. Two days before they kept my bike for whole day and just sent it back saying that they cleaned the sensor. I shot few email to different address of yamaha customer care and lo a call came this morning to take the bike to the svc and the svc guys welcome me very dearly and they changed the sensor in just 10 mins and yesterday they were fooling me that it takes few hours to change the sensor and they don't have sensor in stalk, call on monday and I'll check blah blah, hahhaha. That's why I say in our country only crying child gets milk.Life is like riding a motorcycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving,to move forward you must throtle...

Got my belly pan painted up and fitted.
Not sure about if I want to paint it black where the vertical fins meet with the pan as the lines don't meet up/flow. I may paint them black so there is a border.
The Piaggio Liberty S 125cc is what I bought my wife last night. US$3k. Matt gun grey with silver fleck/metalic.
Slow and steady wins the race......Just makes me angry riding it with it rediculously slow speed. Luckily my mates bike shop has a 180cc cylinder for it
Just don't tell the wife hahaha

Hello every one.. I need a help..I am quite confused with the grade of oil which i should use. I have a yamaha fazer 9 months old and 11000kms done. 2500kms done on mineral yamalube 20w40 which is the recommended grade by the company. After that i changed to yamalube 15w50 SS. Now i want to upgrade to full synthetics. Preferably MOTUL. But i am confused on the grade... Should i use motul 300V FS (10W40/15W50) or motul 7100 100% synthetic 20W50.. Please help me guys. and please give reasons for the option that you provide. It will be really helpfull for a nobody like me...
some of my learned friends say i should keep the 20 in 20W40 constant and can change the 40 in 20w40 to any value....and some say just the opposite.. i.e change the lower value and keep the upper value constant..
The temperature at my place varies from 2 degrees in winters to 52 degrees in summer. And i do mostly long rides at speed of 80-90kmph for 80-90 kms at a stretch. Please help me decide...Life is like riding a motorcycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving,to move forward you must throtle...

Guys, tell me something...my bike is 2800kms and 7 months old..should I go for performance mods now like rear disc brake,FFE or use up the stock parts for sometime and then go for the performance mods?
Another question...I use a Bosch pressure washer to clean my ride.Since then I think the front brake's bite has decreased. Is this because the disc caliper and pads are getting cleaned?

i think you don't go for any mods in your bike until one year from the date of purchase as the warranty is one year. If anything goes wrong you wouldn't get warranty.
And in the case brake pads, it wont get worn out because of pressure washer. I think you should clean disc brake regularly or mud get stuck up in pads and decreases braking.

Yes bro....the news paper says its around 48-50...but my room thermometer says 52..
Hottest spot, searing hunt Cold or sun, same cover
and check the winter temp as well...it says around 4-5 but its 3.5-3. degrees...
bro some use castrol 10w40 power 1... but they are loosing oil...they have to keep checking the oil and refill...Life is like riding a motorcycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving,to move forward you must throtle...

Dont do any mods.. now.. if u have opted for the extended warranty by yamaha then ur warranty is extended to 3 years... and dont use pressured water spray on ur discs. the bite decreases in that case.. i hope u have noticed this while riding in rain in kolkata....Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostGuys, tell me something...my bike is 2800kms and 7 months old..should I go for performance mods now like rear disc brake,FFE or use up the stock parts for sometime and then go for the performance mods?
