      Thats great . thanks ... I am what you would call , moderately aggressive , not all out thrash nor complete splendour ... also planning a ride to pondy which would be about 600+ kms both ways ... so I plan to change after this ... like completely . seeing as it would be a speed run .

        Just an update. My Bike even after a decent amount of runs on really hard thrash mode and mix riding is still giving me almost 41 kmpl (356 kms on trip meter and 8.72 ltrs consumed= 40.82 kms... P.S. i never run it on reserve.) which in my book is really good!!

        Whats weird is now the bike's engine seems to have opened up and is able to hit 103-105 quite easily. Beyond that i couldn't test it as i ran out of straight line tarmac (did all this with proper gear ofcourse!). This time the bike didn't feel losing steam post the 85kmph figure..Didn't feel any sort of vibration or engine being under stress or anything.

        The bike is quite rev happy now . Haven't faced any body noise/vibration so far. and the odo has hit 4500k so with my kinda daily running, the next service willl be due by Jan '11 end.

        However, one or two nuts have started showing signs of rust thanks to Mumbai's weather. Any idea how can i get it fixed. Will nickle plating help??

        I guess i will cross 14000+ kms on odo by the time my bike turns a year old.

          Gud decision to change it after the pondy ride.....
          coz i suppose the throttle wil be used the whole 360 degrees on road(as much i know) to pondy.....

          Just be sure to change it as soon as u get time after returning....

          Now...now....dont get inflamed so easily buddy....i am definite that you can beat the 126 mark easily....
          but whats the point if u break something else too......

          The important thing is to enjoy your ride...thats the real pleasure of biking...we r not here to race each other.....
          i m sure road-jilla(sory cudnt let this go) didnt mean it that way....

          • Guys.. 2 days back, I happened to ride my friend's FZ for almost 25 kms on the highway. This was the first chance I got to ride an FZ on highway. Bike was more than a year old and clocked some 9K.

            I was mostly riding around 80-90 kmph. The problem that was bugging me is that, at those speeds, the bike just screams. I mean, you feel like the engine has ran out of RPM range and needs to shift up, but there are no gears left. Its a very annoying feeling you know. I now guess this is why the bike looses out steam post 90. ie, problem is with the gear box, rather than the engine.

            What do you think..? Is this the case with all FZs..?

            • Did a 700+ Kms trip from Mumbai -Pune - Satara and back with my friends on one 220F and one Karizma R. Roads were awesome from the start. Average crusing speed was 95 KMPH and most of the times above 100 on clear highways. Filled 1100 Rs of petrol which was around 18.5 Ltrs (With ~1 Ltr still left) and total trip reading is 720 Kms. The mileage comes to around 38~39 and always in thrash mode.

              My friends were also surprised seeing my Fazer taking the ghats and corners effortlessly . Will put a log later. Haven't got all the pics yet.

                I dont think so.....i agree that it screms but above 105 KMPH. My bike never screms at those speeds. I guess he wouldn't have done proper servicing of the bike (including engine oil change).

                Also it goes till 100 effortlessly but past that it takes some time.

                      Did you fill from the same petrol bunk or filled it from somewhere else? If you got the figure back after filling from a different station, that should answer your question.

                        1. the bulb's position is shifted
                        2. headlight as a whole has shifted
                        3. may be the fork is having a problem but that doesnt seem to be a problem here otherwise you would have felt it while riding...

                        please check these things visually and compare them to another fz and let us know the difference.... after that we will see what can be done....

                                i have seen only the bulb is inclined to left.is there any way to DIY??
