and I would definitely drop in a mail to Yamaha if they are not able to diagnose the problem....
Next stop svc this friday and will update wat happens.... and if the trouble persists ..... it would then go to yamaha

    PS: thanx for the help

wd40 is available at all the hardware stores... a substitute for wd40 is the zorrik spray which is also quite popular...

Hey buddy, its absolutely fine to use the engine kill switch. I don't remember of having turned off my bike using the key, except to remove the key. Whatever the svc folks have mentioned is utter rubbish. As kinshuk mentioned better get the electricals checked, still better to drop in a mail to yamaha and just watch the way the svc folks Will plead u to come over

This I want to know also guys. I also use kill switch whenever I stop the bike than use the key to lock the bike after turning all lights off but not usually at a signal. Will this also cause battery issue? Otherwise, I also do not understand why there is kill switch at easy location and just for the special case to use?

OOPS.. just saw above answer after writing... thanks for the answer....

                      • nothing wrong in using the engine kill switch. I use it everytime to turn off the bike at signals or when my phone rings or whenever its not required to take the key out. Its designed to help you save time on the restart. (turning on using key would run the check.....) atleast a couple of seconds are saved.

                            • Replaced the torsion spring and push lever of my YAMAHA FAZER

Hey guys finally I was able to upgrade/replace the torsion spring and push lever of my fazer.I was regularly getting sms about them and I rang back on the Yamaha toll free 1800 420 1600 ,the person at the other end asked some details like phone number etc and told me that my bike features in the list . I told them about the lame excuse given by my Yamaha dealer who always says he is not having my bike on the list with him,the Yamaha toll free guy was really friendly and asked me to call the toll free number and make the servicing incharge/supervisor talk to him if they give any kind of excuse.

Today finally I went to the service centre and again the same excuse of not having my name on the list,I dialled the YAMAHA TOLL FREE NUMBER,the guy at the other end immediately told the supervisor to change my bike's torsion spring and push lever, after some time,a mechanic (can be considered the senior most there) came up to me and told me that I will have to change my engine oil ,I was like .. what?? why ??,last time I had to pay 220 for engine oil and this time he told me its 250 rupees ,I dialled the toll free number but the guy turned down the query saying they cant answer technical queries but he did gave a kind of personal answer telling me that there was no need to change the engine oil.

Anyway the bike was handed over to another junior mechanic,he was was friendly and was doing his duty properly when the above mentioned senior mechanic appeared and told me that I couldnt be near the bike ( meant the service area),I told him that I wont move, its my bike and I want to see whats being done,he told me that because of this the poor junior mechanic might lose his job (probably he thought I am little kid ),ok I said ,as I didnt want the junior mechanic to be in trouble I went to an office staff and told her in a stern manner that I will be near the bike as things go on ,I left the place even before she said anything.

I was around my bike and the junior mechanic was slowly and carefully doing his job ,suddenly the supervisor appeared ,he told me that I will have to change my engine oil,I said I wont ,I said I simply dont want to change the engine oil come what may,he told me that he wont allow the work to be done without changing the oil,I said whatever the case may be ,I just simply dont want to change the oil, even if something happens to my bike or the engine (in case I dont change the oil),why are you concerned ,at the moment I wont change the engine oil.He told me to carry back the engine oil ,I told hime its not the case taking back the old oil ,I just dont to change the oil thats it.He left and by the time the junior mechanic had left ,I went up to the place where the junior and senior mechanic were standing and I told them to get my work done,by this time the senior mechanic was so irritated that he told the junior mechanic to some how complete the work without changing the engine oil.

The reason behind not changing the engine oil was that I had changed my engine oil just some time back and the first thing the mechanic did was to drain the oil to a clean utensil ,I couldnt understand what would happen if pour that engine oil back after all the work is done.

Finally everything was done by the junior mechanic ............ the gear changing is not so smooth now ,I mean its now I need to put in some real effort many a times to at the pedal to change the gear and its also getting difficult to bring down the gears when I suddenly need to slow down or stop in the traffic.

lot more to write.....bored of typing
