I am new on this Forums and this is my first post. I Got my dream bike, The Yamaha FZ-S back in December. My second service is due soon. I have some important questions.

Firstly, I found that the fuel meter is a bit inaccurate, it sometimes show 2 bars, then suddenly go to blink and after next start, it again goes back to 2 bars.

Secondly, sometimes when riding in traffic, the bike's engine and exhaust maybe, acts strangely, it makes strange noises like a sudden burst going **BHop** .

I wash my bike every 3 days and always keep it clean so it shouldn't be about dirt. Please provide me with support. It's my first bike and I don't actually know much about bikes.

Third and the last, I tried registering on the FZraiders.in website, but it says the Chassis Number is too short.
My bike is the limited Edition version, blue-silver, which came last year during diwali. Please help.

Also, this isn't a query but an achievement (sorta), after completeing about 1100Kms, I took my bike on the nearby highway which is usually empty. I achieved a top speed of 104Km/h.

I'll post some pictures for the beauty soon.
Congratulations on your dream bike and fuel bar is not in correct its when you park the bike on side stand the fuel in the tank moves to one place to other same goes with the riding.
Thump sound is normal i used to get the same when you bike was new try shifting accurately and clutch usage.
Not sure about the last question as im not registered on that website.

    Ride safe.

The manual says 1000km or 30days (whichever is earlier). So I think you got your answer

Besides that, dont give a chance to the SVC to tell you that you voided your warranty because you didnt get ur bike serviced as per their prescribed schedule.

            Cheers!!

            • Pick up in my ride reduced drastically. I'm able to feel the difference in every gear. It's not at all pull whenever I slow down and throttle up again.
I checked engine oil and tyre pressure and they are fine.

              What could be the problem?

                Congrats for your new ride.

Well, the issue regarding the fuel gauge is always there with every FZ owner.

The bhop sound must be coming, cuz of the water settling on the spark plug. While washing the bike, make sure you don't splash water onto the engine or else you might here more of the bhops.

Not sure of the last one, i am not registered on it

                Drive Safe!!

                Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Blocked air filter, Mistuned carb, Riding with choke pulled, Poor quality fuel is what I can think right now.. Checking spark plug may also be a good option.

I was having the same problem sometime back.

When did you change the air filter and the spark plug?
Have you changed the chain/sprocket set yet?
Last time when the carb was properly cleaned/?

Keep the air intake free. Incase the air intake is choked, you might feel the difference in pick up. My cousin had placed something unknowingly near the intake (beneath the seat) and had faced such issue.

Also, as others have mentioned, lookout for the condition of the spark plug. A burnt spark plug might cause these problems.

Do you fill up your tank from different gas statiom or from one particular??

even i am facing the reduction in throttle response.......and also my facing roughness in engine....the sweet voice of my bike has changed.....does fuel quality cause these issues??....

i am not having any other reason suggested by you....since...

blocked air filter cant happen - bike was serviced now and i saw them cleaning the air filter

Carb wasn't touched by me nor my the SVC guys..... nor i drive with choke pulled up.

only fuel quality is doubtful area....

Fuel Quality can be an issue try using shell for the next couple of times and see if things change.

Did the svc clean the air filter or change it? because as far as i know FZ air filter cant be cleaned. It has to be replaced.

If your carb is dirty and/or the choke is pulled the ride will be jerky with frequent shutting of the engine.

When was the last oil and oil filter change?
                              What is the idle rpm?

                              • FZ rear tyre PUNCTURE problem

                                Hi Riders,

I have encountered 6 puntures on the rear tyreof my 2 year (8000 km) old FZ 16. The condition of the tyre is pretty ok with all the treads intact. My riding is also within city limits with no rural kacha road riding. Still I faced so many flat tyres! I also checked for cracked /bent rim, but even the rim is totally ok.
is this normal with other FZs also?
My stock tyre's condition is such that it will last for another 8k kms at least & I dont want to change it right now. also I have found that upon changing the tyres the height of the bike increases a bit which I dont want.

                                pls help!!
