Had a mishap day before yesterday. Was riding in the rain, on the way to the office, a crazy buffalo charged towards me, I panicked, lost control, was about to hit an oncoming car, evaded and fell off the road. the left side front cowls are damaged, the headlight stay/bracket bent, but the tank and the rest of the bike was not even scratched. the crash guard got bent and now unusable.
I am converting it to an fz-s now as my nearby service centre guys do not have the headlight bracket for now.
Meanwhile I will be riding my new pulsar 200ns for a few days though it is not as comfortable as the fazer.BreaklessBiker

motul chain cleaner or anyother de-greaser.Originally posted by [email protected] View Posthow do we clean chain or remove lube from chain?
cheaper alternative=kerosene.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

Usually at Yamaha Service centre , they use Motul products .First they spray Motul Chain clean which is a powerful degreasing agent and slowly the dirt starts dripping from the chain . Later, after the bike is washed , they use Motul Chain lube . Just some days back I saw the price of Chain lube to be Rs.510 /- while they were using it on my bike.Originally posted by [email protected] View Posthow do we clean chain or remove lube from chain?
They charged me 150 rupees for chain clean + chain lube .

Hey guys, even after adjusting ,still my headlight in upper position is always on to the trees on roadside and not giving a good long view of the road ahead. Is it possible to get it right without doing much changes ,I mean just by adjusting normally ?
Also tell me which engine oil to go for once I touch 4000 Km ? Will it be OK to go for SS ? And should I go for motul or yamalube ? Which grade would be good ,considering the fact that it would be winter within 2 months or so

SS oil is fine... since, in bhopal the temps don't go down to sub zero: would recommend Motul 300V 15 W 50 single ester SS oil. will cost around 500-550 bucks i think... better than Yamalube. drain interval 3000 - 3500 kms based on usage.Originally posted by yamahafazer View PostHey guys, even after adjusting ,still my headlight in upper position is always on to the trees on roadside and not giving a good long view of the road ahead. Hey guys nice experience for me
Today I went to fuel station to fill some petrol and I deliberately asked them to fill 10 litres and they were very hesistant. They were soon taking the calculating and they were suggesting me to fill to equivalent rupees, I denied and asked them to fill just 10 litres and after filling it costed Rs. 706.87 and I gave them Rs. 710 and they didn't have 3rs change. I told them to keep the change and I'm still the happy person that I haven't gave them chance to loot. Guys always try to fill the petrol according to no. of litres and not according to the number of rupees I'll do it the same thing for my car also. Anyways it's our money we need to be very careful.
Also happy with the mileage. Even with heavy ripping the mileage is 38 km/l.

Hi. Can you be more precise, please? You said "after adjusting" and then ask about "adjusting normally"? How did you adjust them in the first place???Originally posted by yamahafazer View PostHey guys, even after adjusting ,still my headlight in upper position is always on to the trees on roadside and not giving a good long view of the road ahead. There are two large zinc plated "silver" screws at the lower part of the lights (behind the fairing). These are for adjusting the height of the beam. At night, sitting on the bike, you should adjust the height so that you get it correct in high beam. There is no independent adjustment for the low beam: it follows automatically what has been done for the high beam, which is the determining one.
Of course, this adjustment will be valid for a certain riders weight, and done with pillion if that is the most frequent for you, and also for a certain adjustment of the rear suspension. Changing the latter will change the beam height adjustment too. When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

I meant that it was adjusted using the screws located below the headlight. Still not satisfied with the result , by the way do you know the reason why the high beam is by default not focussing on the roads instead lighting up roadside trees . I think its quite common with Fazer.Originally posted by Lucky Luke View PostHi. Can you be more precise, please? You said "after adjusting" and then ask about "adjusting normally"? Has anybody replaced the headlamps of the Fazer? I had a small crash and the right lamp got scratched. SVC is quoting approx Rs.2500 for the headlamp assembly.
The swingarm, since the time has some rusting inside,as well as the monoshock's silver adjustable part has discoloured...can I claim warranty on that, since my bike is just 7 months old?
