one thing really disapoints me fz series looks so good... bt y lack of power yamaha has the technology to make r15 which is just 149 cc to cross 132kmph mark y not with fz it gets stuck on 108.... 110.. with such heavy mascular body wish they could have added a bit more speed.. no doubt its awesome in hills.. its unbeatable.. the torque it provides in uphill over takes... curves and turns... but it gets stuck on highway... y y y... such big radial tyre and no power to pull.. r15 good.. but just for those who suffer malnutration and couldnt grow up.. its so low.. n uncomfartable for people with good height

see bajaj has to spice up their marketing campaign in order to keep their market share in the 150 cc coz tvs and yams are eating into its market share with fz's and rtr... but as far as r15's size is concerned i totally agree with you as in my opinion it is one of the most disproportionate bike in the industry... and as far as racing competition for fz goes it is not targeted for people who are into racing it is targeted for people who want to get ahead of the competition in a city traffic and not on track... so chill save some money and get a bigger bike...Originally posted by Sushant Ahlawat View PostTimon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

iam planning to modify my bike... a bit.. like putting body of r15 but its color does not match with my lava red coloured bike.. so had to put gladiator engine gaurd... but i want it full covered... any suggestions.. and any good custom shop near chandigarh... to give it a good paint job... and wht kind of paint job do u advice... its looks sportier and not ugly. or overshow offsigpicMY BIKE DOESN'T LEAK OIL IT MARKS ITS TERRITORY

now pls dont plonk the R15 fairing onto the FZ!..fairings require a lot of engineering to be perfect...you are never going to have perfection by plonking fairings from other bikes.and it also looks dumb with the normal handle bar on a fully faired bike!
and MOST IMPORTANTLY it wouldn't allow your engine to cool down properly!Smoke rubber,not tobacco.

FZ is lacking prolly 1 or 1.5 HP of power. But there are other ways to get a bit more power. go through this thread for the details. My 2 ps is move over to FS oils when ever possible. I've definitely noticed improvement in my top end accel. Havent got an opportunity to test the top speed though...
And as for marketing I'll always believe Empty vessels make more noise (though to be fair pulsar also has a few good things).
So stop the ranting and start biking....Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

dude why do u want the R15 fairing ? the Fazer's fairing looks fantastic IMHO... By the way is it really uncomfortable for you on the R15 ? Guys, I have a question! Here in Bangalore, I have seen FZs executing highly impossible moves cutting through traffic which I have not seen on any other bikes. Is it because FZ is mainly used by poser guys, or is the handing on FZ on a different level altogether?

... The handling is bloody brilliant but i don't think it's tat much greater than others ... but yeah i've seen quite few moves like the one you've described in bangalore and mainly those are posers ...
