Unfortunately the same thing was faced by me. However, I believe it is more or less the same problem all across the dealers in Mumbai. The RTO takes quite a lot of time to do the processing of the bike registration card. Believe me the dealer will not make money on delaying your card. Unfortunately this is how the indian stretchable time format is being followed all across govt. Body organisations.
In the mean time if you are getting stopped for routine check nakas, carry you insurance, license, the taxation papers and tell the cop that the bike is new and the registration has not come in. I am sure to prove that you are the owner, there is an alternate paper provided by the showroom. Show that and it will suffice.
