I had an extensive talk with a traffic cop here in mumbai on this topic when he stopped me for riding ma Friends FZ with sticker number plate on front bumper.
Here r the point he told me
    1. The number plate should be directly n clearly visible from front. The bumper is curved hence the number cannot be seen completely at one go.

    2. He told me that the New Embossed IND number plates have the proper font size.

    3. The back number plate should have the letter n number together format eg MH 02 in one line below that the other letters n numbers ie XY 3245

Must point out that a FZ without its front number plate looks quite bad with a big gap between the headlight assembly and the speedometer. Thats how it seems to me.....other might like it

I want to ask you people whether the white mirrors as seen on the ZMR will look good on the Fazer. How does it look without the HSRP? IMO it looks fab. Will be doing the stickering job today. Will keep big font to avoid cop attraction.

If they look good on ZMR with the same color scheme then they may also look good on Fazer. Ultimately it depends on the owner; as they say, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I suggest looking for a white Vinyl and applying it on the existing mirrors. So if you're bored with the look you can get rid of the Vinyl and have the stock black mirrors back.

@SpeedyKol I suggested white vinyl because Fazer's mirrors are better than most of the bikes in the looks department. I am eager to see the result. Keep us updated!

On other note, I noticed that my rear wheel doesn't rotate freely when the bike is on the center stand. It takes a lot of force to rotate it by hand. Earlier it used to rotate freely and and once set in motion, it used to keep rotating for some time. What might be the problem?

              Two possible issues
              1. Your brake pads might be new.
              2. Unlubed chain..

it may be due to over tightening of the rear brake
loosen the rear brake adjusting nut and see if the wheel rotates freely

                  1. The bike is a 1 Year 3 months old so I think the brake pads aren't that new.
                  2. The chain was lubed recently by the SVC guys.

I remember asking the SVC guy to tighten the rear brake. So, I think that the over tightening might be the problem. Does over tightening of the brake result in low mileage? because I'm experiencing a significantly low mileage since 2-3 months.

                    first define significanrly low..
If you are getting anywhere near 40 its ok. If significantly less than check idle rpms.. It should be 1300 on a hot engine.
If your rear brake was over tightened, you will feel a sudden stopping force in lower gears and if it was slightly overtightened more than 100km back, it must have rubbed itself and levelled as an optimum tightened brake.
I am not getting why you rotated the wheel like that when your chain was lubricated recently..

You might not call this accurate but the bike managed to do around 30Kms on fuel worth 100 bucks (1.3 ltrs approx).
Someone told me that there was something stuck to the real tyre. So I went to the parking lot to remove it and then I noticed that the tyre was not rotating freely as it used to earlier.

                      • ^^ That's really low mileage ur getting! Ask the SVC guy to open the rear wheel and check for rust. Also u can check while getting down from a bridge, press and hold the clutch, let the bike roll down the slope on its own, keep an eye on the speedo. If the speed does not decrease like 32-31-30, then there's surely some problem. Not quite sure about the solution, better get it checked at SVC and keep nagging them.Keep us updated.

                        • Couldn't get white vinyl, would go there again after a few days to buy that and also gloves till elbows for protection from sun.Looking like negro! Done the number plate thing...got rid of the Band-Aid front HSRP, did all the work myself except printing the sticker, though the font was given to the man from my pen drive.Hope to get some comments.

So you mean that while going downhill and holding the clutch, the speed should decrease and if it doesn't decrease then there is a problem?

No,I meant it should decrease like 32-31-30 and not 32-29-25...got it? although the sensor is located on the front wheel, but if the rear wheel is creating a friction, the front wheel will slow down obviously. hence the test.
Speed will decrease for sure as there is the bike's mass and the frictional force playing between the tyres and the uneven surface of the road
