1st test report FFE
hi all.,
just came back fully drenched thanks to weird rainy weather phenomenon in mumbai.
My initial experience.. my god Its FREKKIN LOUD.. i mean being so used to the silent purry exhaust all this time and then suddenly shifting to FFE is a drastic change for me..
She now sounds angry and growling.. all this with the decibel killer on... the best part is the moment you leave the accelerator and let the bike decelerate by itself.. all you will hear is loud burbling and growling of the engine and at time spitfire flames coming out from the exhaust. Did a test run around cops and no they were least bothered by the noise... in my case, now the bottom end has improved even more.. earlier when i used to ride the bike at slow speeds, she would start knocking below 25 kmph.. but now i can run her with ease at speeds as slow as 18- 20 kmph while being on 5th gear!! She pulls quite cleanly..
She now can easily hit 95+ kmph in matter of seconds with the decibel killer on i was planning on checking the top end but then it started pouring heavily so had to can the test...
i now truly believe the liner "loud pipes save lives!!".. all pedestrians now indeed respond to the noise and just stop jaywalking on the road. tom will try a speed run w/o the decible killer on
mileage report by the end of this week.

Thanks for clearing that up guys..thought my choke was not working as the choke on my dad's KB100 increases rpms to 4k..
So many people getting the exhaust really tempts me to get one..I was planning to initially, but used the money for something else..have to start saving again..or ask my parents
My bike returned 40 and 43kmpl with same riding (8-8.5K) after returning 27 previously...moody moody beast

My bad.. will make the corrections
.. yup she is loud.. please understand i am still getting used to it!! all hell breaks lose when you take the DB killer off... super responsive rev meter goes beserk.. tom's speed run will reveal things better.

**hijack alert**
Guys , just came back from a 700kms round trip to Chennai ... Was amazing as I didn't see the speedo drop below 100 for 75% of the ride ...
, bike suddenly felt super smooth towards the end of the trip , But I do feel my chain and sprocket has gone bad , I tightened the chain just a week back , didn't do any riding at the time , but now it has become loose again ... Max speed achieved was 121kmph ...
P.S : I'm now pretty sure it is the chain n sprocket set thats conked out ... So whats the approx cost of the new set ?Last edited by nand15; 10-17-2011, 02:05 PM.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

If yes then does it reduce the no of times you have to fill air in the tires?

Yes i have put Anti-punture liquid in my bike from 1 month. I havent lost any pressure. Earlier i used to loose 10 psi every week, even after getting number of punctures done. Its the only solution to problematic Rear tyre in FZ.Originally posted by iceman331 View PostExcellent work with the 1st Video pal......the Audible difference between Without n With DB killer (when you go n put something into the exhaust) is clearly heard...thanQ very much for this
btw i wanted to know.....have u put the FFE on stock engine???
To ALL :-

how much did you pay for the process? 350? is it like a one time use can and you fill the tyre with whatever there is in the can or you use a particualr quantity....Originally posted by shamanthnv View PostWas Around Rs 350 for Half liter, got it done by sai iyengar tyres in bangalore. They will just remove the tyre valve and pour it in Half liter with a tube attached to bottle, Close the valve fill the air that is it, no extra charges.Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Posthow much did you pay for the process? 350? is it like a one time use can and you fill the tyre with whatever there is in the can or you use a particualr quantity....---------------------
