        • Received my ffe today. Had a little bit tough time installing it as it was getting in the way of rear brake lever. After installing found the center stand coming up too high and problem hitting the exhaust. I have now temporarily put a signal light bed of yamaha rx100 in the place of the rubber of centre stand and it seems to work so far.

Coming to the ride experience, my mechanic was skeptical at first but when he came after the ride he just said WOW. I took a few minutes ride and felt that it was as good as apache 160 if not better. The beat of the exhaust is simply superb. No back firing whatsoever. The bike red-lines in every gear now. Top speed not tested as I was busy concentrating on the road. But overall experience was good and I would say it was a worthy investment and the wait has paid off well.

Excellent work with the 1st Video pal......the Audible difference between Without n With DB killer (when you go n put something into the exhaust) is clearly heard...thanQ very much for this

btw i wanted to know.....have u put the FFE on stock engine???

            To ALL :-

Has anyone put the Anti-puncture liquid in their tires????
If yes then does it reduce the no of times you have to fill air in the tires?

How does the choke lever work on our bikes??From day one the second I pull the choke the engine switches off..I thought the choke was supposed to increase the rpm??

It is weird that the engine swicthes off when we use the choke-but the trick is to slightly give the throttle while pulling the choke.

yes my friend, ive put 'slime' anti-puncture liquid in my rear tire,it really works guys, you just put this thing in your tire and forget about it,i have 2 nails in my rear tire for a long time, but i dont loose any pressure ever,
i even did delhi-mumbai-delhi tour and dint need to fill air.
i would advise everyone to try it.

That is supposed to happen for a warm or sufficient temperature. Unless in very cold starts, the choke on any bike tends to shut off the engine(when not using throttle) as the mixture is too rich.

I have not doubt that Joel will have done a good job in working out the gases flow etc.....but to have this exhaust hitting the brake pedal and moreover the center stand, that is SHOCKING!!!

With this bike, the lightest push forward when it's on the side stand will have the bike falling down as immediate result (and the Fazer will hate falling!). This has certainly been purposely designed like that as a safety measure in case one forgets this side stand (since there is no safety switch) and so that it instantly springs back in place the moment it may touch the road. This makes the central stand, very stable and easy to use on that bike, an essential piece of equipment, IMHO.

I am very disappointed to hear about this design flaw in Joel's FFE...
When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

                            • My FZ-X18 (Extreme)

                              Hi All,

finally managed to install the Free Flow Exhaust today on me bike. took about a good 20 mins as the mechanic had to remove quite a lot of stuff before getting the FFE installed.
As reported by all, the main stand does hit the FFE the moment you put the bike off stand.. but i am not going to remove it just for the heck of it.

                              INITIAL OBSERVATIONS
                              :

The FFE doesn't weigh more than 1- 2 kgs.. i could immediately feel the weight difference the moment i picked up the stock exhaust which according to my estimations should be around 8-9 kgs. Without the DB Killer the FFE is seriously loud.. i mean REALLY REALLY LOUD!! so within city premises i would suggest to be safe with the DB killer on and not get haggled by Mumbai Pandus (cops)..

i haven't taken her out for a spin yet but the initial start up testing was more than enough to bring down a few neighbour kids to start inquiring about the pricing, performance and other details about the FFE, race concepts, joel, xbhp etc. like RanjithMN has already described, it is not a great looker and i indeed prefer it that way.. i just want the performance thats all.. will take her out tonight for a test ride and then shall post results. For the time being, here are some more pics for all fellow mates .

Will start my own thread soon posting results as i continue hot roding me FZ-X18 (Lame name as of now.. will think of something better later!!)
(Joel you have one happy customer, will give you feedback within a week!!)

                              Cheers

                              • I am more than satisfied the performance of joel's ffe, but still have two problems to look into. One is the centre stand which is good for now as I have put a signal light bed, which did melt a little after 2 hours of continuous riding, but is not sticking to the exhaust in any way. The other is the rear brake pedal hits the ffe while baking as I have put an extra nut at the pillion foot peg that supports the muffler so as to not getting in contact with the swing arm, for which I will need to find some two or three washers so as to set it to right position so that it will not get into contact with either.

May be Joel will rectify these problems in his future exhausts.
