how can we find out if our bike belongs to that bad batch....

guys pls respond quickly...the LED speedo has gone kaput....a few lines actually on the rpm gauge are not lighting up at all...can it be fixed or does the entire assembly of the speedo needs to be changed????

also is it under warranty or will I have to shell out cash??? my bike is still young....12k and 8 months old....

ah...xBhp user Swas is facing this issue right now...the bars around 4K RPM dont work...when he inquired in one of the SVC's they said there is a warranty on Speedo for 2 yrs..so yes it will be replaced but obviously YOU WILL LOSE YOUR ODO Reading!you can sell your bike for a better price! :P

anyway..i dont know how accurate tht SVC guy was...

The Speedo like I said is for the the faulty fuel guage. I have no idea what are the other parts. The best way to check if your bike is affected would be to call up your dealer and ask.

I'll be giving my bike for 4th service next week. Will see if the parts have come and get it replaced.

Hmmm... thanks for the update , did u ask them what they managed to do with the fuel gauge ?

All those parts seem suspension related ... i dunno , random guess ...

And the Speedometer is for the fuel guage. The other parts are Torsion spring, push lever, return spring. No clue what those are. The guy whom I talked to said that they are "bike parts".

Bad experience for me though. I called the SVC place(Pacer Motors Bangalore) yesterday asking if I could come over. The dude said today mechanics are on leave and come tomm. Today I landed up there and asked for it. They tell me the parts have'nt even come to the SVC yet. I was super pissed. I blast the dude who calmly tells me to come later. He then calls another guy (Gajendra), this is the dude who took my service last time and did a good job. He explains to me that the parts are yet to come and asked me who called me over there. I didnt know the guy whom I spoke to. End of story I came away super pissed with no new parts

Any of you guys know what Torsion spring, push lever, return spring are please enlighten me.

i called up ambal motors in chennai, he said they will change any of these parts only if we have a problem with the specific parts. he said you have warranty for 2years why worry when something fails i will change it for you. its not compulsory. my 6th free service is coming next week i've been complaining about the faulty fuel gauge he said he will change the console but added people who changed the console still had the same problem so he has again asked yamaha engineers on what to do. anyway the torsion spring, push lever, return spring are related to the gear and clutch. he again said they will change it only if mine is broken because this is suppose to be stronger than the original. but i will sweet talk him into doing it anyway.

Installed R15's rear sprocket today! Acceleration is awesome!

Reaching 7k rpm quite fast and you can feel the change. However now my bike is reachin 38kmph in 1st gear (41 previously), 103kmph in 4th gear(112 previously

) and 123kmph in 5th.. Neways, I'm quite happy with the change.

i have got my carb. cleaned, spark plug changed..
still m facing the same starting problem wen the bike is hot(ie between 10-30 min.)

..
plss help me wat shud i doo..

how much did de r15 rear sprocket cost...so u r saying that de initial speed has reduced,,did u chk de fuel efficiency.

the R15 sprocket costs about 440rs i think ...

nice to hear that... need to change my bikes chain & sprocket, looking for the R15's, so the initial acceleration has been increased rite?
what's your recommendation for changing the front sprockets and chain to R15 too?
what's the cost for chain, front&rear sprockets?

The chain alone costs around 770rs , add bout 400 for the rear sprocket , not sure about the front sprocket price ...

Sorry buddy... it looks like no one has a clue about it (or someone would have said something by now..)

All I can say is you should show this to the SVC guys and reproduce the problem for them to diagnose... and hope they can do something about it. All the best...
