Not the best thing I've seen on the bike, but definitely not the worst. But end of the day, if it does the job you are good to go... But yeah like others said the already uncomfortable rear seat has just become even more uncomfortable.Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostI specifically asked this question cos I fitted a dicky on mine yesterday. Some of my friends got all hysterical about it
Saddle bags are quite expensive and I wanted more storage space. I also added a tank pouch. Personally I think both things look reasonably fine with the bike... especially the dicky... IMO it looks like it was made for the bike.
My friends are like... its a sports bike, you can't put a dicky on it, blah blah... Then I showed them pics of 1000cc+ sport tourers with dickys and they kept quiet
Still don't get how a 150cc bike is 'sports'. :/
Well this is India we are talking about. you can expect guys to be using the Busa or the CBR or the R1 on a daily basis. 150 is where you cut a sweet deal with perf vs FE.Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....

Nand... Cmon man... Quit it... Some of us dont even know what a four looks like in the 10s place.. But yeah, with the Petrol hike round the corner, its going to get really painful for me at the bunk...Originally posted by nand15 View PostI am already at 40kmpl , any chances for it to go higher for me ... i can always dream right !!!Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

Dont really think the exact time matters here. My guess is that cleaning wouldnt have an adverse effect. It normally is good for your bike unless you are cleaning the lubrications and not lubing afterwards.Originally posted by askyashu View PostREALLYY????
u mean the SAME prob.. ie 5 min.-30 min.
wud the cleaning have an adverse effet????

Long overdue report of my 3rd service and oil change.Originally posted by bikerfas View PostI am due for my 4th service, want to check whether can i go with the same engine which the yamaha guys use or is there any other one which is better then that.
Got it done way back in April end. And here's the astonishing part. The SVC (Pacer Motors, Bangalore) did a really good job in sorting out my Gear shift. It still isnt like 100% smooth but its waaay better. Got hold of the chief mechanic and explained the problem. He made sure he got the prob solved. So thats full marks for the dude.
He also reco'ed a FS oil. I had done only 3k and yet he said it should'nt be a prob. I asked him which oil is he going to put. He said its imported Agip oil. I had my doubts but all of them were cleared when I took delivery. Its was really good. And even after 2 months it still is (Hence my delay in posting
).
I checked Agip online and turns out it is imported (not one dealer in India) and they do have xxW40 oils. So that was a relief. Engine doesnt overheat, runs smoothly. And I see a very distinct improvement in the top end. Turn of the throttle had never been so much fun before
Now for the finances. Oil cost 660Rs. Donno if thats a good price. 3 times the Yamalube cost but 4 times the drain interval... (Next change is going to be at 1yr) so i'm fine with it. 180 bucks for the chain lube. Apart from that everything else was cool.Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

Forgotten to add that FE is improving.. From a dismal 30 before 3rd Service to constant 34 now. I know thats not a lot and no where close to what some of you guys are getting but i'm happy as long as its not downOriginally posted by dude_phenom View PostLong overdue report of my 3rd service and oil change.

I did have 4-5 misfires in the past 2 months though. So whadya guys recommend? Change spark plug now or wait for the 1yr service??Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

Yamaha Recall????
Hey guys this is a general question to all of you and specific to Bangalore and even more specific to guys who have bought their FZ/Fazer from Pacer Motors (Thats you nand).
Got a call from them today afternoon asking to get my bike over to change the speedo, return spring and cushion spring. I repeatedly asked him if he's going to replace the speedo or the fuel guage but he said speedo
Have any of you guys got this call. Will take it over either tomm or day after. Expect a full report.
Oh and the usual blah blah. The bike is under warranty so it'll be done for free and etc etc.Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

Whoa !!! thats surprising ... i didn't get any call though ! maybe due to the fact that my bike came of an earlier batch ... I say this because last time they put the rear mudguard ( the extra flap ) on for the new bikes , they called me but then said that they can't do it coz mine was from an earlier batch ...Originally posted by dude_phenom View PostHey guys this is a general question to all of you and specific to Bangalore and even more specific to guys who have bought their FZ/Fazer from Pacer Motors (Thats you nand).

But then whats the speedo replacement for ??? did they rehabilitate the mental fuel gauge ???
coz the rest of it works like a charm .
the service engineer was mr.kiran right ? ... yeah he sorted out my gear shift issue at the 1st service and the engine roughness bit a little time later , my bike due it's 1year service end of this month , maybe they'll change whatever then ...

Helppp!!!!!!
Well i got the carb. cleaned today.. nd got the spark plug changed..Originally posted by soumya_digi View PostI faced the same problem!
Ask the svc guys to clean the carb thoroughly. Also check the spark plug and clean it.
but tht engine prob. still remains..
still it doesnt start though the starter pressing time reduced frm earlier.. but still the bike doesnt start on single start.. i mean it starts but the rpm tht shud cum to run the engine doesnt cums.. the engine struggles to start nd u can hear the voice of really low rpm.. but thn too it doesnt start nd ultimately engine stops.. thn i need to press the starter again nd after sumtym it starts..
PLSS HELP ME GUYS.....

Haha..Originally posted by dude_phenom View PostDont really think the exact time matters here. My guess is that cleaning wouldnt have an adverse effect. It normally is good for your bike unless you are cleaning the lubrications and not lubing afterwards.

Inaugural accident on the Fazer today
A rickshaw crashed into my front wheel at an intersection :@ The fender has a crack in it and it pains me every time I look at it. I asked the SVC guys and they said it'll cost Rs 325 to replace the fender
I have a friend who says it can be fixed for Rs 200 but I don't want to void my warranty.

@dude_phenom: thanks for the updates, and info about Agip. One small doubt... doesn't the oil change interval depend on the number of kms run, and not on the time the oil has spent in and around the engine? Silly noob question .. but still, if you could clarify...
Another thing.. you have 6 continuous posts in this page and the previous.. Just be careful about it.. the mods might mind this continuous posting... use the edit / multiquote option instead.. (don't take this the wrong way, I don't have any probs.. but mods dont allow these things
)

Me thinks getting it done at the SVC is the best option... 125 rupees doesn't seem worth the risk of voiding the warranty..Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostInaugural accident on the Fazer today

Look at it this way , there are some guys here getting close to five-oh , so sitting at moderate 40 is not much ...Originally posted by dude_phenom View PostNand... Cmon man... Quit it... I don't think u would void the warranty as i don't think the warranty covers it in the first place ... claiming warranty itself is a major headache . they might put it down to negligence and refuse it anyway . fevi kwik also works if it is jus a crack .Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostInaugural accident on the Fazer today

Yup. The drain interval does depend on the number of kms run. But I'd like to change it much earlier than the required interval. Hence my earlier comment on 2 month for mineral and 6 months for FS.Originally posted by s_and_m View Post@dude_phenom: thanks for the updates, and info about Agip. Ok. Thought as much. I knew yours was quite older than mine. But what mudguard? I got 2 shirts, one jacket and one bag which can tell you there is no such thing on the FZ.Originally posted by nand15 View PostWhoa !!! thats surprising ... i didn't get any call though ! maybe due to the fact that my bike came of an earlier batch ... LOL. No idea. Will give a complete update when i get it done.Originally posted by nand15 View PostBut then whats the speedo replacement for ??? did they rehabilitate the mental fuel gauge ???

Actually stupid of me not to get his name.
