13.3volts seems alright . which battery ? stock ? because mine only read about 10.6volts and all is fine for me .

With regards to the lock , the FZ lock and the fork lock isn't gonna help all that much if somebody really wants to steal your ride .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

There was some road repairs going on at my cousin's place. People had to ride on gravel for about 250 feet for about 10 days. My cousin's neighbor's fz tyre suffered multiple punctures and degraded badly. But my cousin's victor and another neighbor's pulsar and another old apache150 and one activa did not have any prob with their tyres, despite riding on the same gravel. The fz was the newest of these bikes, but its tyre had to be changed. The low-profile Fz tyre is a prob on bad roads.

Due to tyre change, the fz was left unused for 3 weeks, and then it would not start. The battery was discharged and it had to be push-started. After charging and service etc, they finally replaced the battery.

I am thinking of buying a 150cc and considering Fz. This battery prob does not scare me now, as new fz has kicker. But i am worried about fz rear tyre. Does is degrade on bad roads? If we ride into a pothole at high speed, will it tolerate or get punctured. This low-profile tyre can result in rim dents too if we accidentally ride into big potholes. By the way, in bangalore, the roads are full of potoholes. Is there any radial 130/70 tyre option available for fz so i can fit that later??

and there are other options like motul and shell IF you dont find agip...

        cheers...
        Hehe thanks,I'm calm
Yeah decided to go for motul,as all the dealers I tracked down through the net say that they don't have stock of the agip..guess the 200ml will have to sit around for a little longer

J.C Road ...After the first signal , there will be a SBI bank on your right , a small gully next to that ... go in there and on the right you will find " The Motorcycle House " , they are original dealers of Yamaha spares and accessories ... Chat up the guy there and tell him your from xBhp ... I'm sure he'll give you a discount

P.S : The Yamalube offroad Chain lube price has gone up form 450 to 510rs , got one yesterday . Along with the tuning fork logo for my bike which some idiot had stolen ... the two small ones were 13rs each and the big one for the sides were 50bucks each ... But since i knew the mech around there , he waived of the price for the small ones and billed me for only one of the side logo's ...

          • Some changes...information...advise

So been a while since I was here...hectic life. Only ridden 300 kms in the past month which is pathetic.....

Information Changed to Nitrogen in my tires. 2psi for the front and back. But then a demon crept up in me and I went back and got 2.2 psi in the back

Well call me an idiot, but that extra 0.2 psi will show. I can hear my music clearly as no tire roll from the rear....and on straights its absolutely magnificent.

But as tire pressure increases to that level, banking becomes only for the brave as the give in the tire wall reduces. But then again i'm borderline lunatic so on the precipice is fine for me. Mileage touches 50 plus and minus depending on traffic for my driving (I like high revs). It costed me 50 bucks to get the air out and get Nitrogen in...and was 10 bucks for extra topup. You get a receipt as well

Advise 5th service done...on semi synth. But when I do ride I ride hard and sometimes long distances. Heard great things about AGIP. But where do I find it in Pune. I'm relatively new to this place...and I'll be riding to Hyderabad in a couple of weeks. Skeptical about the changing the oil as I got Yam Synth oil at the last service 2 weeks ago. Hope ya get me drift....

Where do I get air filters. I would like the Simotas. Not sure they come for FZ though.
When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

            • Twin horns for FZ16/ FZ S

              Hi guys,
Have any you fixed twin horns to your FZ 16/ FZ S. I bought a pair of Roots Windtone last year. Currently using one horn. I want to fix the second horn. I do not want o spoil the original look. Space is a problem. Hope it will not damage the battery.

              Any inputs.

but i have seen different seat covers on bikes at SVC which makes like the bike looks like having split seats
I've been trying to get a cool mesh cover. I asked all the Yamaha sales and svc in TVM and TSR. But none of them have it. Any idea where I can get one.

The surprising thing here is I had no sore butt problems throughout the entire 800kms ... Because we took breaks at every 60 - 100 kms .
Depends on the build of the individual. For short people like me 75 kg is over weight and yes many cops have to lift their bellies to take a piss!!!

I did 150 kms in one go with with a 2 min break for filling the tank. I did not even get off the bike.
I did the same distance on my friend's GS 150R and also on a P220. My butt did not ache.
Anyways its always best to take frequent breaks while going super long distance.

You are correct on this. Space is an issue with FZ. But a good mechanic will surely help you out with some Jugaad.

Hi there sorry for the delayed reponse.
I went to a local rexin shop. He was going to take off the original cover and cushion. But I told him to just add and extra 1/2 inch of foam over the original cover and then fix a new cover over it.
He did the job before me and overall finish was not bad at all.
It took just half an hour.
For Rs 250 it was too good.

Recently I met my friend's friend who claimed to have extracted 55 kmpl from his new FZ.

I do make use of multi-quotes.
This log in happens to be after 2 weeks. The response to my queries and my response to others queries are scattered in various pages. Hence, making it difficult to use multi-quotes. I have used it where ever I can.

                              That is surprizing!
The roads in Vietnam, generally speaking, are just as bad as yours from what I can see on photos and videos of your great country! I have been riding about 300km. recently on a road that had a hundred meters of repairs every couple of kilometers (typical "socialist" management: the five year plan is to do it, so it takes 5 years to complete anything!), and there is not a mark on the tyre. This included going not only on gravels, which is nothing, but on crunched rock, which is always really mean to tyres!

May I wonder if your tyre pressure was right?

Potholes is a whole different thing, and It's always the front tyre (and the fork!) that I fear for. I must say that I am very cautious about these, and break hard if I can't avoid one, absolutely stop breaking when getting to them and most important always stand up if that happens, letting the bike rock freely under me, even giving a pull on the bar before the front wheel gets up back on the road again, then accelerate to help the rear wheel up and out. I have never had any serious "bang" on the rear wheel, and this with various bikes and over 20 years on south East Asia roads, including the worse of them all: Cambodia.

                                No Actually not...I do.

Shifting patterns mostly depend on the engine.... I just do a 'Shift when I feel the bike telling me its a good time'.....

But somehow I feel that the dude at the last service did something....don't feel the torque as much as I used to at the lower end....much like a new bike. Strange though..........
