Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi guys, got my bike back after first service, but there are some oily spots here and there on the tank. The service guy said its due to diesel wash and wil go away if I wipe it off. Can I wipe them off with a dry micro fibre cloth?

Just wipe it off, its gonna be fine. If it cant take a soft cloth wipe, it wouldnt last a kilometer in dusty winds.

Just damp the cloth that you will be using with some soap or shampoo and wipe the marks.

Mate, bikes are made to withstand harsh environments, weather and what not. So don't sweat too much. Nothing is gonna happen to the paint.Originally posted by thunderstorm29 View PostOk. Wil dampen a cloth and wipe it off. Thanks for suggestions
Ride safe and have fun.

No matter how much you take care minute scratches are inevitable you just cannot stop them, it's like a person is trying to stop himself from getting old, which he can't, but that dosen't mean you should not take care of your bike, just take care of your bike as much as you like.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Anyone who has done the 40000km service themselves and can tell me what to be done apart from
1. Air filter change
2. Oil filter change
3. Engine Oil change
4. Chain cleaning and setting
5. spark plug setting
6. Front brake pads change
Any other thing I am missing?

Rear tyre, must
Front tyre, maybe
Battery, maybe
Rest is regular, head work is what is unavoidable in certain cases. Is your engine a drunkard

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Headwork at 40k doesnt seems to be right. opening up the engine case creates a lot of issues. please correct if I am wrong.Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostHead work, maybe

Rear tyre was already changed in between. battery also changed last year.
front tyre needs to be replaced but may be after a couple of months.
Engine aint a drunkard giving a mileage of 38-39kmpl.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009
