But be careful not to use a plug of diffrent spec than oe. I use Bosch rr6 duel contact plug and efficiency and throttle responce iss better. Hope this helps. 
Thanks for detailed answer bro! I am reconsidering my decision to get the third-party air filter. I have read good things about cosworth. Any known mechanic in Pune who can get the job done perfectly? I am yet to learn mechanical things related to the bike, but I am willing to learn :-)

The brake was serviced almost 2 weeks but I do not ride everyday. I will try your suggested approach to brake hard.

By the jerking of the bike I meant that when I let go of the throttle, bike decelerate pretty quickly. I feel that the throttle is too sensitive when being on the 1st and 2nd gear. Is this the case with other bikes as well? This is my first bike so I do not have much experience with bikes. Also, I don't see this jerking/throttle problem on 3rd gear and onwards. Bike is butter smooth on those gears. And yes, I have been facing this problem since the break-in period. I did ride rash during break-in period; had followed one systematic approach for the break-in period. I don't seem to find the method name right now.

About the spark plug, I see NGK site lists two plugs for FZ-16, viz. Conventional, G-Power. Which one would be better?

I think g-power is good but why not try Bosch. As for the throttle issue engine breaking is excessive on any new bike and pretty much mellows out with age but in your case take it to svc and tell them to adjust the clutch cable setting and check chain tension. I actually prefer to do it myself as I like to feel out the bike and find that adjustment sweet spot but you say bike is new so best not to fiddle with it unnecessarily. Also just keep depressing the brake lever until you feel it tense up and if new pads fitted they need to face with the disk plate to develop bite. Cheers 😏

I am not sure where to source Bosch spark plugs here in Pune. NGK is readily available so that is what I am leaning towards.

I should have mentioned that the bike is 1 year old, 8k on the ODO. I had questioned at the service center about the jerkiness but I guess they didn't do anything about it. When the bike is newly serviced, I feel engine to be way smoother and pleasure to ride. This experience goes away as the day pass by.

By the way, the brake pads are not changed, only the oil seal. Also, servicing center charged for the disk brake overhaul as they had to clean it due to oil leakage of the seal. Will ride for another week and update on the brake conditions later. Thanks.

enli_ bro for someone who has run his bike 6k in 2 months since purchase your bike is gonna be new and by new I actually ment not as used as it should be for a years ownership. LOL 😜
Try the clutch adjustment thing and see. If it doesn't work then we'll try something else.

It looks like your brake pads are smeared with oil. Since you have already covered 8k kms, you might as well replace them. Especially if the pads have glazed(pads become hard and surface becomes smooth as glass) If you don't wanna do that then I'd suggest take the bike to the SVC and ask them to rub sand-paper on the pads to remove the oil and make the pads rougher. And also take a small bit of detergent in a mug of water and wash your disk with it. And then definitely wash it off with normal water to remove all the detergent.

This should help.

Cheers!!

I have some queries:

1. I have gone through complete thread of air filters. I was hoping to get the some air filter but I see that people are strongly suggesting that it won't be beneficial to sub 180cc bikes, like ours. Has anybody using non-stock air filter from the long time, more than 1 year? If yes, what is your experience? What do you recommend? What I expect from the new stock air filter is better sound, that's all- Please stay away from after market filters as it will damage the engine soon and your bike is also covered only 6K kms.

2. After the last free servicing, I noticed that the front brakes were not up to the mark. Upon observation, I saw that the front oil ring seal was broken and the disks were partially covered in oil. The seal was replaced promptly. Even after the replacement and the cleaning of the disks, I don't feel that the disk brakes are that efficient at stopping the bike, compared to what I had before. I feel them little lose (not sure how to put it in words). Can I get them adjusted properly once again?- The Brake pads would have absorbed some amount of oil which is very difficult to remove. Please change the Brake pads before it gets worse.

3. Shifting from 3rd gear on wards is a total bliss and there are no jerks. But, riding the bike on 1st and then shifting from 1st to 2nd gear is too painful. If I let go of the throttle, I can feel sudden engine breaking and speed decreases substantially, i.e. I feel the jerks on 1st gear and then while shifting between 1st-2nd gear. I do know how to explain this properly but I guess we call it as jerks. - please tell the SVC guys to adjust the clutch settings. It normally happens if the clutch settings are not set properly you will find it difficult to change gears.

4. I have been reading some conflicting information on the efficiency of spark plugs, e.g. NGK. Will I get any advantage by changing the stock spark plugs?- Stock and G power are good but you will not find any difference in performance.

Thanks.
Cheers

Mathews

Change it ASAP.

Keep changing @ 10-12k kms in future.

36K km without spark plug change??? are you sure? They guys at the SVC must have changed it. Spark plug change interval is somewhere between 8,000-10,000 KM. You can push it further if you clean it but i think its better to get a new one. Costs only around Rs100. In case the sparkplug does get damaged, the small bits of the electrode will end up falling into the cylinder and may damage the walls. So change it ASAP.

I just bought a 450ml can of yamalube Off-road chain lube for Rs330 in thrissur, kerala. The ones by motul , and that too the normal road use ones, cost Rs560 and contain only 400ml so why this huge price increase of Rs230 for lesser product? yamalube cant be that bad, can it? Also upon closer inspection of the Yamalube can, i cant find any details with regards to who manufactured it and where, who imported it to india and also cant find the YAMAHA logo anywhere. When i did an online search, every yamalube product shown on their website has the YAMAHA logo printed in the bottom corner on the front. Also the danger warning placed on the front of the can looks a bit misplaced with broken sentences. I cant find any details with regards to fake yamalube products so just posting it here. attaching a few pics belowClick image for larger version
