150/60 17 will be too big.. It might touch the wheel hugger very often.. You may for for 140/60 17 even though that's big but many people use that profile.. Else if you do not have puncture issue in your area then stick to stock or checkout V2's stock tyresOriginally posted by MUSTANG 27 View PostHi,

140/60 17 is stock from mrf i chose michelin for good grip and the tyre guy says lot of fz owners have put them. Fz v2 has the same tyre spec no difference.Originally posted by bilalans View Post150/60 17 will be too big.. It might touch the wheel hugger very often.. R15 has clip-ons type handle bar and I think they will not fit on FZ. Try other SVC.Originally posted by Mizt View PostGuys will r15 handle bar ends suit fz16s. Mine are broken and not available in SVC near my place. That too they have only the weights not the stopper and nuts
Cheerz!!
Is it 150/60 or 140/70? It should be 140/70 and not 150/60. Kindly check.Originally posted by MUSTANG 27 View PostHi,

I dont think type of handlebar and barends have any relation just the inner diameter of bars. however will try to check in different SVC the stock barends are made of plastic which often breaks on impact. The ones r15 are of casting so it would be rigid in times of impact.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostR15 has clip-ons type handle bar and I think they will not fit on FZ. Try other SVC.

Does it mean 150/60 Dukes tyre will have better grip and acceleration and reduced mileage?Originally posted by Subhradeep View Post140/60(Of FZ/Fazer) 150/60(Of Duke 200) Difference

The plastic bar-ends are for show nothing else. But if your bike didn't come with metal ones don't get them as it adds weight. The stock bikes come perfectly balanced but aftermarket bar-ends are low quality and have inbalanced weight on each. Can cause the bike to feel stiff handling and imbalanced.
The diffrence is in tyre walls not tyre size. Essentially the dukes rear tyre comes with smaller sidewalls which allow ut to have a bigger running surface as opposed to fz rear tyre. So getting a duke rear tyre will give the fz better nanuverability but mileage remains unchanged. But check if the tyres running surface width will allow you to install it on the stock swing arm. Also check if the fz tyre isn't of 130 size as that means that it is too small compared to duke 140 means its ok. Just my thoughts. Cheers

Stock FZ rear tyre is of 140 section, while Duke has 150 section rear.Originally posted by Balgi View PostAlso check if the fz tyre isn't of 130 size as that means that it is too small compared to duke 140 means its ok. Just my thoughts. Cheers
I have seen many fz's with duke's rear tyre. Its way more rounder than the stock fz rear tyre. Also,by looking at it, the tyre felt smaller than the stock tyre just because of its more rounded shape and not kinda flat.
Ride safe and have fun.

yes it is rounder which means you can corner more and better with it. That's what I meant by bigger running surface and smaller side walls. though it looks smaller, at close inspection you will notice the fz tyre is flatter so it looks bigger but in truth the duke's tyres are bigger.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostStock FZ rear tyre is of 140 section, while Duke has 150 section rear.

Re: Advice on, whether or not to buy a new tyre - Yamaha FZ
The acceleration will not change much, but, the speedometer reading will show lower speed as the revolution per mile gets reduced by 2%. Hence though the actual speed remains same, the speedometer reading will show lower than that. e.g. for 100 kmph actual speed if the previous reading was 100, now for 100 kmph actual speed it will show 98kmph on the speedometer(here the speedo-indicated speed is assumed as correct, as for both the case speedometer is same, the speedo error gets nullified in the comparison). And for the grip, the duke tyre's dry road grip will be a bit better and wet road grip will not be much different because for Duke the stock tyre is MRF Revz-C. But for Michelin , the wet grip is better for the same profile as of Duke's. But AFAIK , for michelin, the 150/60 size is not available in India, only 140/70(Michelin pilot street radial) is available. Hope this info might helpOriginally posted by Mizt View PostI dont think type of handlebar and barends have any relation just the inner diameter of bars. however will try to check in different SVC the stock barends are made of plastic which often breaks on impact.
