I have no idea what a catalytic converter is, but the same sound also used to come from my bicycle when the rear tyre is lifted and pedalled. Similar sound. But now its gone i guess

Catalytic coverter is a device which converts three harmful compounds of an exhaust into harmless compouns, which are
      1. Hydrocarbons(unburned gasoline or petrol)
      2. Carbon monoxide, very dangerous(formed by combustion process of any fossil fuel)
      3. Nitrogen oxide(heat of the engine combines nitrogen in the air to combine with oxygen)

Hydrocarbon produces smog, carbon monoxide is deadly for any breating creature on our planet, nitrogen oxide leads to acid rain.
A catalytic converter contains Platinum and Palladium are coated on to a ceramic honeycomb, and are arranged in a muffler, which is than attached to the back pipe or exhaust, catalytic converter converts Hydrocarbons to carbon dioxide and water, Carbon monoxide to dioxide, and nitrogen to nitrogen and oxygen again.

From my experience, 15w50 grade oil doesn't suit FZ. Stick to 20w40 or 20w50 (as recommended by Yamaha)

            Ride safe and have fun.

Is it written with ink or chalk, for ink you can use Grapeseed oil to remove this mark if you are afraid of using soap or somekind of ink remover, just dampen the marked area and apply oil on the marked surface for overnight i would say, it should loosen the ink and next morning you can just wipe it off with some wet cloth, or you can try it with colin cleaner, most of the time this liquid works.

If it's chalk then use pencil eraser on it, take a wet sponge dampen the area and slowly rub the mark with eraser, it should get lighten with continuous rubbing, yes that's johnson baby shampoo

Currently I am using a light bed sheet to cover my bike, I have spent too too much this month, bike+ all the necessary stuff . As soon as my Salary gets credited next month, I am gonna buy the Bike cover, and a good polish one among the ones u told, I am going to apply polish only for the green shiny parts. After first service I will go for that logo light thing.

Can anyone tell me whether or not the FZ has a chain lock?

Yesterday, I was at my mechanic to shorten my bike's chain. But he could not locate the lock on the chain.

Fz has got an endless chains there is no master link, reason being becuase whenever a chain let's go it is always or most of the time from this master link, that's the weak spot in a chain so you have to remove your back wheel and then take off the chain from the bike, some chains comes with factory riveted mechanism, these rivets are hard to locate if they are not brass one.

no the chain does not have a chain lock. The are O ring type of chains. You need to replace them once the back tyre has been moved to the extremes. What is your current Odometer reading?
