Thanks arijit there are some more things id like to share .
I am done with 4000 kms nearly in a year . yes too little .. My college is close by and my sweet caring mother doesn't let me take bikes far . atleast didn't let me take before .. Now she has mellowed down . allowing long rides ..
      Couple of issues though .
      1) i feel my bike runs out of breath too early . while idling at a traffic stop i checked the exhaust flow with my bare hand and found the air coming out of it . hot . not too hot but . noticable . i remember reading somewhere that there is a carb setting rich/lean . which is helpful for tuning the bikes topend . im not sure what my carb settings are - my bike refuses to go above 105. While iv seen people / read people hitting speeds of 110+ .
Sure 10-15 kms dont matter . but at 105 the engine feels its going to explode . i cant fathom the idea of it going 110-115 .
What can i do about the topspeed/ carb setting .
      2) my sider - butterfly shaped is losing its paint and so is the saree guard .
The bike looks old- can that damage be reversed or my other option of removing both of them will be better .

3)i read about a dunlop tyre . i want a slimmer / better tyre . could you suggest one
4)now when i say this to people they think im tripping but when i crouch and hug the tank . - sport e-style . i can swear the engine sounds like theres a plastic stuck in it .. The sound when plastic gets stuck in a fan its hard to describe and really spoils the ride experience.

Please forgive the long post . and thanks once again
NO matter how many Cars/Bikes/Trucks/animals . on the road , you must still rely on your ability :D

        1. The bike is running lean. The hand over exhaust method is a good way to verify. If the exhaust gas is a bit moist and a good smell of petrol is noticed it is the perfect tune. Get the carb tuned from a experinced mech and be sure to tell him to go for a optimum tune which is not lean.

2.if you meant the crash guard, yes paint peeling and rusting is quite common for those. Repainting them is a good option .i would never suggest removing them as we cannot say when itll come handy if a fall should occur

3.the newer mrf revz-m is said to be much better than the old stock version. Do give it a try

4.it does sound a bit weird. Never heard of such a problem.

        Cheers
        Ride safe

Thank you for the quick response Krishna, can i get the throttle cable / brake fluid drained / carb setting done from any place other than a svc . i mean i know i can but does it void the warranty ?

For checking if you are running on lean mixture or not, check the condition of spark plug. If it is tan/chocolate colored, the mixture is perfect. Also, check the idle RPM. It should be in between 1200-1500rpm.

Change the cables at SVC or even if you change it at some garage, it will not void the warranty.

From your previous post what i understand is that, the bike is 1 year old and this means that all you free services are over and the bike isn't under warranty anymore (if you haven't taken the extended warranty).

Actually by draining the brake fluid, the fellow xBhpian wants to tell you that "bleed the brake". Just by draining the brake fluid and filling it with a new one will not help in anyway.

Regarding top speed, the bike surely runs out of breath as it crosses 95-100kph mark. So, i really don't think there is any issue with carb setting.

            Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

For your last problem gaurav is it the engine or some plastic part rattling, the noise can also be of the air scoop that sits near the engine's spark plug (which directs air to spark plug) at high speeds when air enters this small part and gushes out it sometimes gives feeling as if there is something loose in the engine.

                Thanks devil .
My bike after a cold start idles at 1k and after warming up touches 1.5k at idle .
Top speed . i thought it could touch 110 atleast . i have seen videos of fazer touching 126- 124 kmph respectively .

                  The idle is perfect.

The main reason for Fazer doing such speed is because of the front fairing (headlight assembly unit). FZ dosen't have any advantage to cut air due to absence of such thing. So, you really cannot compare speed of FZ and Fazer. You need proper straight road or some decline down the road to go reach 110kph or so. Just curious, why so fussy about top speed?

                      Ok.

                      Check the following:

                      1) Chain slackness. Adjust if necessary.
                      2) Keep the suction port (under the seat) free of any blockage.
                      3) Check spark plug condition.
                      4) Tyre pressure (front & rear).
                      5) Clutch plate conditions.

IMO, if any of the above mentioned things don't work, then only touch the carb.

What happens at low speed? Are you not able to go above any RPM?

Last but not the least, no matter how fast or slow you are, riding is about enjoying and not only about speed

Yes these are normal chains. O-ring chains will not have these removal link.

The torque wrench that I am using is Norbar make. It cost about Rs.9500

Such small works would not attract voiding f warranty, besides, you need not tell the svc people that you did some work from outside in the first place.

Sorry bro if your bike is matte battle green then yes these shampoos are not for your bike, there are special Ph balanced shampoos available for the matte colour which are without wax contents, just protect your bike from scratches, once scratche these matte finish products cant be polished back. Sorry again as because of me you purchased this formula1 shampo.
