And there's noting blocking the air intake port. I don't keep anything there.

You should lean out the AFR a bit and see if its the same condition. The condition if plug is really bad. Clean the plug, lean the AFR and see what happens. Also don't keep anything under the seat that might block the air-filter.

I think busted rings give white smoke (maybe i am wrong)

Ride safe and have fun.

sachin_v - Just my doubt please check whether the spark plug is CPR8EA-9 as the SVC guys could have put a wrong plug. If it is correct then the culprit may be the AFR being in the rick setting as advised by other try to set it to lean.

Cheers,

Get your carburetor retuned properly, plus do a compression test by compression meter, it's not always bad rings which are culprit, leaking valves are also the reason behind black plug.

I took my bike to the mechanic to adjust the coneset and front shocks which was misalgined. Discussed with him the sluggish performance of the bike. He suggested the clutch plates since I have 36k on stock ones also suggested to mod the air filter to foam type. He says the performance and mileage after using foam type filter will improve. Can I go with this mod, this guy will be servicing my bike by next week.

Also suggest me a better headlight bulb stock ones suck. Not intersted in HID or projectors

Change the clutch plates and see if it helps. 36k is fine and changing it would be a good thing.

I don't think you would get a direct fit foam filter. No idea about the effects.

Use any normal 55/60w bulb, it does the job. The illumination is way better than stock 35w bulb. No mod required, plug and play. I am myself using normal halogen 55/60w bulb and am pretty happy with it.

Ride safe and have fun.

you are running a rich ( very ) mixture . replace the air filter , it may be clogged . clean carburetor and retune .

Hi All,

Today morning all of the sudden i noticed that rear break wire screw is too behind . I took it to the yamaha service center but they told me that its not a problem as it will get adjusted automatically and having it this much behind is not an issue. I am positing the pics please let me know if i need to worry and what needs to be done. Since this is related to breaks so i dont want to take any chance

Nothing to worry brother, this is for adjusting the tension in rear brake lever. Over a period of time, it does loosen up. Use the right spanner from the tool kit, move it clockwise and you will be fine. Don't overtighten it.

New brake shoes inside so nothing to worry about. Just make sure brake pedal play is right & brake bite is good.

As the brake shoes will fade gradually you will feel less braking force from the rear drum at that time you have to turn this screw clockwise to tighten the brake.

Before also, i had posted about the rear suspension being too soft. But now the rebound action on bumps is causing back pain I tried keeping 33psi at rear instead if my routine 35psi. But still the same result.
Anyway to alter the suspension to a slightly stiffer setting ?

It is very simple if you have this tool. If not available try to get it from some of your friends who has a splender(it comes in the tool kit).

Or else use hammer and a screw driver to change it to stiffer settings.

Don't know anyone who has a splendor still, i will ask around.

btw, where should the tool be placed on the shocker and which way to turn ?
is the procedure in the workshop manual ?
