Is that the recomended spark plug ?
The washer on plug is not sealed properly give little more torque while fitting it for the first time.
So your bike shows cold start issues, better tune afr from a good mech. Running lean will rip the engine.

My bike starts in a single click even after two weeks

Running lean does not mean you will get higher mileage. On a lean afr engine is more stressed and heated up and thus reduces efficiency. What mileage was you getting earlier? Which engine oil you are using?

That spark plug looks in rather bad shape already. The spark node's gone that black in 10 days? I don't think that is normal. 😞

Earlier I used to get 30-35kmpl.the mileage has dropped after my recent service. I'm using the yamalube used by the svc people.would you recommend any good engine oil?? Thank you in advance

For Engine oil you can get the info from experts in this thread or you can search here. i am not sure about best engine oil for fz. Get the afr tuned from a good experienced mech and see.

That spark plug looks way too worn out for a 10 day one. I have used a ngk iridium on my FZ for a fairly long time and it still looks pretty spotless to me still. Can't be sure what is causing the FE problems on your bike as it could be one or combination of other issues as pointed out by the members here

Spark plug is fine not worn out. Iridium plugs are designed to run longer and cleaner even it does not require gap adjustments so it is pointless comparing an iridium plug with a normal one.

As Jith has suggested.. Try locating a good mechanic and get the bike checked proper. No way it should be giving anything less than 30kmpl. Which is itself a bit depressing for a 150cc engine.. But we FZ owners live with it 😞

Went for a short spin.Heated up the engine.Set the rpm to 3k and turned the fuel screw 1/8 anti clockwise. I could feel the difference in acceleration. I hope this sorts out the problem of fuel efficiency also.it also feels a bit smoother now.will report back again after checking the efficiency

1/8 is not enough. Try 1/2 turns.

                        • Headlamp upgrade for Yamaha FZ-S

                          Hi guys,

My FZ-S have done 28000 KMs. The light output from the current stock bulb (35 W) is very poor. Thought of changing the bulb to 55/60 W. After reading some blogs, enquired in 1 or 2 shops in Coimbatore (F1 Stickers near Stadium), they told like we can change it to Philips Xtreme Vision halogen bulbs (Price 650 Rs).
I have already installed Pulsar's horn in my bike to get good sound (FZ comes with a single MINDA horn, this is double horn from MINDA again, used as OEM in Pulsars).
Also I have changed the battery to AMARON Pro Biker ABR-PR-12APBTX50 12V, 5Ah battery.

Will changing the bulb cause any issue to the battery ? Does it need any alteration in the electrical system ?
I already tried searching related posts on FZ headlamp upgrade, but could not find it.

Please give your valuble suggestions/ experiences or give link to similar related threads !
                          Thanks in advance.

                            Hello All,

                            Completed 24k on ODO.
No issues so far except for the starter relay replaced @ 12k on ODO.
Never went to Service center but only for Spare parts.
Oil change, Oil filter replacement, chain slack adjustment done always by me else by my trusted mechanic.
@10 k on ODO, replaced the clutch cable, Fork oil along with springs, oil seals, Spark plug & Air filter.
Tyre changed(Michelin Sporty Pilot) at 4k due to almost 20 punctures with Stock tyre. Not a single puncture after tyre change.

Have bought in new chain, rear and front sprocket for 1325(Chain:Rs. 742, Rear Sprocket: Rs. 305, Front sprocket: Rs. 109(VAT:[email protected]%).

This is how reliable a bike should be.

What can be the possible reason for handle bar to wobble? Have been facing wobbling issue since long time now, but haven't been able to figure out what is the real issue.

Front tyre 2k kms old, new bearings, fork oil and seal changed.
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

It can be due to multiple reasons. Tyres, handle racer, bend forks or alloys, improper fitting etc. My xtreme also have this wobbling in speeds between 55 to 65. On discussing with some senior members i found it is common for some bikes in certain speeds. In those speeds the handle is adjusting itself to compensate the faults in the system.
