Having read reviews on this website that this would be a good basic mod for the bike. Besides I would want a bike that would sound different from the pack.
    2. OSRAM Nightbreaker - 64193 NBP (H4 12V P43T 60/55W)3. NGK IRRIDIUM Spark Plug
Not sure how helpful this would be; need your advise. Also know that there is a platinum option which should suffice.

Hey Guys, first of all let me thank each and every one of you in this forum who have given me immense knowledge of my bike…
I bought my Fazer (White) last year on my birthday. 14th October 2011… You can say I gifted myself this baby. Prior to that I was using the Pulsar 150 (Dec 2006)..
Ever since Day 1, I have enjoyed the ride on the Fazer; Long rides have become a common thing.
So far I haven’t faced any issues with the bike. Just a few minor hiccups which I guess comes with the ownership of the bike.
Within a month the MINDA Battery that YAMAHA fitted conked.. MINDA was good enough to get the battery replaced on the spot. Second issue that I faced was numerous punctures on the rear tyre. I can count till 6. But other than that the bike has been flawless…
I have done close to 19000 kms on the bike in the past 14 months… and have no plans to slow down. To my surprise the service centre has yet to get my brake pads replaced (Front and Rear) which is weird. I asked them how that is possible; they said depends on the riding style. Sometimes pads can get worn out within 5000 kms. None the less I will be getting them changed at the 20000 km mark.
Also a few other mods that I have in mind which I need your guys suggestions.

          1. K&N Air Filter K&N - YA-1611

Having read reviews on this website that this would be a good basic mod for the bike. Besides I would want a bike that would sound different from the pack.

          A. Not needed and not recommended.. won't give any performance gain just with the mod.

          2. OSRAM Nightbreaker - 64193 NBP (H4 12V P43T 60/55W)

I haven’t altered the headlight setup; I still have the left as low beam and the right as high beam. Hence I am planning to change high beam to the OSRAM; to help me during my night rides.

          A. Both Low and high beam on 60W/55 H4 will put load on the electricals and majorly if you are doing stop and go traffic. However, since you have kept the stock beam set up like the way it is, i believe it should work just fine.

          3. NGK IRRIDIUM Spark Plug

Not sure how helpful this would be; need your advise. Also know that there is a platinum option which should suffice.

          A. Would give better cold starts and better protection again's spark plug fouling. However besides that no performance gain. You can try G Power spark plug, same features at a cheaper cost. Or else stick to stock.

          4. Rear Tyre
Is there a better option other than the Stock MRF. I have seen Fazers/ FZ’s with the MRF Zapper Wyde (not sure if that what its called) the one that the P220 comes with. Is that a direct fit ?. is it good? Are there any other better options ?

          A. 140-70-17 profile wise: Dunlop Tuffgrip. The best in the bet just for cornering and exceptional fun will be Pirelli Sports Demon however as last confirmed by rider Deville, it is more or less not available because of Govt. ISI Marking norms. PSD is now available in 130-70-17. If you are looking for purely offroading then roadking tire 140-70-17 or else Duro brand tires should interest you.

          5. Any other options that the Experts suggest..
Don’t want to fiddle with the bike too much as its just a year old.
I just got my battery replaced to an Exide 5AMP Battery. Unfortunately the 9AMP battery doesn’t fit our bikes.
Let me know your thoughts guys, your help is appreciated. Thank you.
          My answers above in bold.

              • My fz16 is 2 years old and 22000 km
After the 22000 service i feel there is a bob in bike when ever i accelerate the bike and leave out the accelerator
I feel the gear box suddenly stuck when ever i release the accelerator
Authirized dealers check the clutch level and tighten the chain
But still there is some bob
Does anyone have experienced this problem
I have ridden a karishma zmr bike but that bike does not have that bob

Starter clutch, quite possibly. You would not be the first one as it seems to be an unreliable part on this bike. Gives an irregular noise, like something is both loose and grinding. Mostly hearable on the left side of the engine, when idling.
When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

Simple - a Phillips screw driver and an Allen key, both included in the tool kit you got with your bike.

I did not get a Allen key too, but size 4 Allen key is what you need. Buy them as a set, its cheap

Really? I got one in mine. Maybe they stopped giving it with the newer models.

                                Use the screwdriver.
there are 2 holes at the top of the sparkplug tool, Slot the screwdriver through the holes and use it to rotate the tool...
