And as for the local mech.. When i was changing the engine oil, there was another fz which was having the oil and seals changed.. He said 200-250₹ for one fork.. Will check tomorrow to be sure if that price was only for the oil or for oil+seals..

I don't feel it much but maybe a lot depends on how the rider apply brakes, 'guess it will differ from individual to individual. Just my thoughts!!

The oil is leaking from top of the fork downtube which connects to the wheel. And it flows over the downtube to the disc assembly. So why dont you tie a cloth on the downtube above the fender. That will absorb the leaking oil and prevent it from reaching the disc. Sure it spoils the looks but safety is more important right.
A very good suggestion, mate! I am not interested in looks but this never crossed my mind, yea, you can call me a mindless rider busy in mindless job dreaming 'bout music, games & bikes - Laziness takes over after that. Join us in our rides & we'll discuss. Besides, I am the only guy with FZ; 'won't mind some company!

Was it because of rusted clutch cable? If so then you can avoid it. The first sign of rusted cable is clutch becomes very hard. Of course it wont be obvious to the rider as it happens slowly and our muscles becomes used to it. But a good indicator is when someone else rides our bikes and tells us that the clutch feels hard. That should be a warning sign that the cable is rusting internally. It should be inspected as soon as possible and replaced if necessary.

          Hope this helps.

          Cheers!!
Just as when I was about to post asking for signs and steps of preventive maintenance. Thanks!
BTW now, after I installed the new cable (not genuine spare) the shifts, lever, smoothness isn't the same as before. What might be the reason and do you suggest any corrective measures?

I am very new to XBHP and this is my 1st query.
I know this query has been asked / answered several times but again I want to confirm it.
            I recently purchased Yamaha FZS.
I feel the headlight is too weak.
I want to replace the stoke 35/35 watt halogen with any good 60/55 watt halogen.
Can it be done without any modification?
Can the battery take the load of it? what kind of halogen is a direct fit ? H4? if yes then which brand and series should I go for under Rs 200

You can use H4 55/60 watts halogen bulb in your assembly without any modifications. I am using Philips H4 normal which costed me Rs. 120. There are other H4 bulb 55/60 are available from Osram and philips. The Philips normal H4 is powerful, cheat and good. Sorry I am not from Pune fellow Xbhpians from pune can help him out.

My second query is : Is it easy to replace the stock headlight bulb in FZS? Is FZS headlight sealed and cannot be opend easily? or we can replace the halogen bulb from behind the headlight assembly?

If you have the required tools, you can change the bulb. If you break the assembly, you will have to replace the whole assembly. Refer the manual for changing of bulb.

                          • Yamaha FZ-S problem with Bike

Hi i own a Yamaha FZ-S which i had bought recently( 2nd hand) , then i drove it for like 2 weeks for around 500 KM then the bike started showing problems.

                            1. There is starting problem (I think that the battery is dead)
                            2. While driving the engine suddenly gets cut off (Dont know for what reason)

I took it to a yamaha service center (Pathetic Service) they said that thers some problem with the carburator for problem 2 (some nut loose) they replaced it and i drove it for like 10 km .
Then again i started to have the same problem . Before the problem statred it had rained for some time and then i took out the bike.

Can anyone please please help me . I stay in chennai if any of you all know any good bike service center, who doesnt fool around with thier customers please let me know at the earliest

Its not like you have to change the dome or anything.. Its a simple bulb and the companies are not this dunb to seal every thing..
get it fitted form the place itself where you buy the bulb.. Or any road side mech can do this..
