The main use is to protect the paint shine or sheen or whatever they call it!

ok. got the point. Teflon coating is just for bringing back the shine on the machine...

but can it not be done by the usual shining techniques like using waxpol or F1 shining wax?

For bringing back&also protecting for a long period. Yes, other waxes would also give a similar effect, but they get worn off when the bike is washed or within a few days. Teflon has a higher quality, hence stays for a few months.
About the minor scratches&swirl marks, it goes by buffing (the round feather type of machine). It can be done with normal polish too.
The teflon guys in addition to using these high quality products, use different products for vinyl, leather, rubber (tyres), chrome etc. thereby maintaining the finish of these for a longer duration. If done once in 6 months, it can maintain the bike shine for years.

I dn have words to describe this, If MRF people dont have a Mushroom puncture fix mechanism, i am sure no 1 else will.
MRF people are BOUND to do a mushroom fix mate!(as per my discussion with MRF India Manager Mr Abrahim).

Well, as per my earlier posts.. routine stem puncture repair is NOT a permanent method of fixing a puncture.. u can no doubt continue with it.. but get a Mushroom punctured fix done as soon as u find a suitable place.

hey just make sure the guys doing the teflon,no matter if its a SVC or anything,are using the TEFLON by DuPont(check the bottle).

they can jst do a normal wax polish and charge you for a Teflon coat!

Yes! He's right. I got my bike teflon coated for just 175 bucks from Yamaha service center. I reside at Noida. Though rates vary from region to region... but never expected this much difference...!

Thanks dude, I'll certainly keep that in mind. Teflon coating by Dupoint only...
BTW, how much time will it take? Do I need to leave my bike there for sometime?

I told that guy about mushroom fix but he said we are MRF exclusive and we do not know anything like that? I had no options. Do you have any contact details for Mr. Abrahim?

i don't know how much time it will take...usually they wash the bike...apply the Coast wait for 20 odd mins and then wipe it off...though im not so sure!

Yes you may have to leave your bike for quite a while. They told me to collect it after 2 hrs.

...........yup just got it done today......the guys came with all their equipment to my place and charged 600 bucks.......tell me if u want their contact number.......they're from yamaha SVC on MG road...

Thanks for the info mate, but looking at the earlier posts, I think 600/- is too much for my liking now

Would luv to get it done under half the price i.e. 300/-
