Yup. That is inevitability I was hoping against. Being a novice I'd put skills of the rider in the above equation too.Originally posted by N-o-v-i-c-e View PostThe harsh reality is that gear shifts of your bike is directly proportional to the skills of your SVC mechanic being good or bad
I learned it the hard way....
One other query anyone in bangalore got a leg guard fitted to their FZ-16/S?? Can someone tell me where and how much would it cost??
I too had a puncture in my rear tyre (nail). SVC (Pacer Motors) fixed it. Not sure how they did it. But seems fine now. Those guys are quite decent actually. May be I should go back for my gear box seperately if i dont see it going away after 1k.Last edited by dude_phenom; 11-30-2009, 07:48 PM.Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

The leg guard is of Rs 600 to Rs 800 ...any yamaha svc has it and can be fixed within 15 mins .....Originally posted by dude_phenom View PostYup. That is inevitability I was hoping against. Being a novice I'd put skills of the rider in the above equation too.

Mine (Pacer Motors) doesnt have it at all. Guy claims yamaha didnt make any provision for leg guard. The one that you are talking about is the rod or the conventional butterfly one??Originally posted by k2cool_87 View PostThe leg guard is of Rs 600 to Rs 800 ...any yamaha svc has it and can be fixed within 15 mins .....Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

but i got mine fixed at a popular place(JC road) in bangalore at 400bucks.. it does serve the purpose and its the kind of guard you see in apache..
PS: the looks of the bike are spoilt by the guard but i had to get one for inevitable reasons..you lose some, you win some..signature not found..

I'll weigh my options..
I think the bike is far too good looking for the guard to spoil it...

hey Vik. I had done my 1st service at Pacer. Those guys were not bad. One guy is quite knowledgeable. He spotted my rear tyre puncture even when my vehicle was on center stand (and I didnt know that even while riding...). They solved my HL focus and mirror problems. But they didnt do anything to my gearbox issues. I think they just plain forgot about it or figured it'll get better with time. First service 550 bucks (including 125 for puncture.)Originally posted by iamvik View PostThe mileage I'm getting from my FZ is still just 30. I'd asked the service station (Bangalore Wheels) to do something to improve it at the last service. But apparently, nothing's been done. When I asked the mechanic there, he claimed that the FZ does just 30 to 35 km/l in the city! When I told him that most people are reporting 40+ km/l, he continued with his evasive replies.
I've decided that I won't go back to them for anything else again. So XBHPians from Bangalore, could you tell me which is the best service centre in Bangalore?
The rear tyre pressure had dropped today to 28 (so I dont know if they've done a good job on that). Will update later on that.Last edited by dude_phenom; 12-01-2009, 01:47 AM.Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
