dude there might be damage to the valve...the place where the air nosel fits...this can also be a cause of air pressure loss...check that too...Originally posted by raksj9 View PostsigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.
To ride or not to ride?? is a....

Thanks for the tip k2cool. As JD said and took it to a tire repair shop nearby and inflated it to around 40 PSI. They couldnt find any leaks with it. But by evening it was again losing air. So I finally took it back to service and told them that I am not taking my bike back unless you fix it. They called me a couple of hours after that and said that there is a slow leak, and the tire is not sealing properly. They said they'll fix it tomorrow morning. I confess that I am clueless as far as tubeless tires are concerned. Nevertheless I am planning to go tomorrow morning and see what they are gonna do with it.Originally posted by k2cool_87 View Postdude there might be damage to the valve...the place where the air nosel fits...this can also be a cause of air pressure loss...check that too...

I don't know 'bout you guys.....but I think that the pillon seat for the FZ16 sucks!! My friend has a fuzzy and sometimes I hitch a ride with him after my classes. It's a 1 hr ride to my place during which my ass gets so sore that I have to literally get off the bike and stand a while....I have to do this on red-light stops as apparently the rider's seat is very comfy and my friend doesn't have any sortta problem in riding the fuzzy for longish periods.
I ask why did yamaha give the fuzzy a pillion seat that could only do good to a bicycle!!

yes Parth FZ's pillion seat is uncomfortable but not as bad as you feel!
some weighing around 60 kgs wont have much of a prob. and yes the riders seat is comfortable!Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

that means that there is some issue with the tyre wall and the rim.. if there is any leak around the rim area, you can get your tyre replaced under warranty for improper bead seating.Originally posted by raksj9 View PostThanks for the tip k2cool. its a city sports commuter... not meant to be sat on pillion for more than 1 hour!!!Originally posted by Parth View PostI don't know 'bout you guys.....but I think that the pillon seat for the FZ16 sucks!! Get your tappets adjusted, that will reduce the vibration. Also change from mineral oil to semi synth ( there are two oils sold by yamaha, one is the 185 Rs / litre bottle one, and the other is the 412 or something , go for the 412 Rs oil, if not already done so )Originally posted by vinod9986 View PostHi, guys i bought my fz 6 months back , she has done 6k and i get a mileage around 43 to 44. Well thats ot true i saw many engines that are giving just tripler or 4 times the power than stock one.Originally posted by R-series View PostTheoretically the power of a street spec engine can be increased by 50% only. Practically the figure stands out to be 30% due to all the losses involved.
P.S -This statement is true considering only modifications and not re-designing.

would just like to clarify myself..do you mean like an engine generating around 30bhp is capable of producing 90-120bhp ? That too without Nos or Turbo chargers..?Originally posted by umeshkumawatsa View PostWell thats ot true i saw many engines that are giving just tripler or 4 times the power than stock one.
What I am refering to is without external assistance...can you please give me some details of the engines ..like how they do it...?we would certainly like to try a few tweaks on our rides aswell
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

The 6 month ownership report of my fz 16 in brief:
Code name : Torque
Km completed : 3800
Accident/crash: Nil ( Thank god )
Damage : Scratches on tank by bag, dress etc....; refuses to go.
Mode of ride : Single, mostly in 45-60km/hr (hate rash driving and always drive in a less of hurry
. Ride mostly in city.
Top speed attained : 117 km/hr single; 100km/hr with pillion.
Ride comfort : Excellent
The outstanding quality of this bike : Low weight, center of gravity toward center, best in class handling and turning, ideal to busy city and finally dazzling looks.......
Pillion ride comfort : average to bad
Ride quality : Smooth and no vibrations
Vibrations start : 75 plus
. ( Any idea to extend the range? )
Modifications : nil ( like to add the mesh seat cover but costly, like to paint or do a sticker job, also wax coating.)
Maintainence charge : only the usual service rates.( But have to lubricate the chain every 500km for chain life ).
Major problems : Nil
Service completed : 3 ( 2 at company showroom which s--ked and one at a motorbike club called "mototec, Trichur which was satisfying. )
Disadvantages : Back seat, horn, display
And finally Mileage : before 1st service , 45-52 kmpl ; Normally mileage 45-48kmpl, Highest obtained 54kmpl in highway. Mostly ride in 3500 rpm category.
Overall the bike rocks.. and offered a full value for money for its on-road price.
I hope all fz owners do write in their ownership experienceReduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

if you use a bag almost daily then to protect your tank from scratches you can either go for tankpads local ones cost arnd 125-150 rs or a tank bra from yamaha itself that costs arnd 350rs (if i am not wrong)....
these things will cover up the scratches, improve the looks and also will prevent the tank from any further scratches....Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009
Optimus: Red Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD 2013
Atom: Red Tata Nano XTA 2016
Pumba: Red Harley Street 750

The yamaha guys called me today morning and told the it indeed is problem with the tyre as it isnt sealing properly. They sent it to MRF and the bike is back. Couldn't get it today as I forgot to take my helmet to work. Dunno if they replaced the tire or they did some fixing. Keeping my fingers crossed! Will let u guys know tomorrow.Originally posted by jd666 View Postthat means that there is some issue with the tyre wall and the rim.. if there is any leak around the rim area, you can get your tyre replaced under warranty for improper bead seating.
And regarding that semi-synth oil, my bike has completed just 1.6k kms. Can I change it now ? I've read it somewhere here itself that its better not to change to full-synth till 5-6k kms. I wanna do this because now I feel the bike is not as smooth as it was for the first 300-400 km after the service. Hopefully semi-synth should do better. Or probably i've got it all wrong
