    • How do I know if my fz's rear wheel is punctured? Bcos I had filled it with full air 33ps and now the ride feels like the air is less in the back wheel. What would be the distance the bike runs with puncture? Also my mileage has drastically decreased from 45-48 to 36 and then 40. Is this connected? My chain is a little more tight when I gave it for last service

If you are ready to shell out 50K ready cash why can't you take a 20K loan? that's my choice... i don't like buying second hand...
only my personal opinion... rest upto you...

if u can get it for a 45k then it would be a steal...do this ask the owner to fill half a litre and ride about and see..if the mileage is round 40kmpl then its a good bike...i say this as fz is already not so good on the mileage department...if the mileage has further dropped from 40 then the bike has deteriorated....

From the beginning to the end, from customer reception and service entry to vehicle finishing and handover, everything seems to be below expectations.

I recently experienced a Maruti dealer's service (RNS motors, Bangalore) for a free service. I must say that I was impressed with the way we were received, the vehicle checked, the work expained and at delivery time, work done explained, cleaning explained and test drive with the service advisor. What I also noticed was that this was the same level of service for all vehicles from an 800 to a SX4. There's nothing even close to this level of service at Yamaha or at most two wheeler dealers. They all just seem like a larger scale operation of my small time mechanic. At least my small time mechanic is more approachable and does his work to my satisfaction.

Considering the price of the premium Yamaha bikes as well as the profit for both Yamaha and the dealer, I think they are all just out to make a fast buck, qualtiy and customer satisfaction be damned!
+100 to that....they are least bothered about the quality of work....rahter they focus on quantity....
my SVC guy even told me to look out for my own local mechanic if i am hell bent on using Petronas 5000 instead of the Yamalube semi which is not of FZ'z recommended grade....

Guys shall i put the 15w50 semi yamalube or go for the Petronas 10w40.....of course he says my bike warranty will be void then.....
Servicing is due in a day or two....any suggestions????

Are you sure the puncture has been repaired correctly? Are you sure there are no new punctures? Have you checked the rim flange where the tyre sits for damage? Being tubless, the tyre depends on the rim for an airtight seal.

Putting a tube in a tubeless tyre will reduce the life of the tyre. The handling may or may not be affected.

                    • What is the process for changing oil if we are going from mineral to synthetic.. Just remove the old one and put in new or is some flushing required?

ya, i have told the service person to check for more punctures today. Can we fill the anti-puncture solution into this tyre like the one in Honda?

Check for usual punctures, valve damage and even the pin on the nozzle

                          • Don't forget to check the valve for leakage. Easiest way: apply saliva on the valve and wait to see if a bubble is formed.

The puncture sealant in Honda vehicles won't work since they use a dual layer tube with the gap between them filled with the sealant. If the problem repeats despite not finding any punctures or leakages, it could mean that there's a problem with the tyre.

The worst case would be a leak in the wheel itself because of either a manufacturing defect or damage.

                              Just a normal oil change.
