I dunno if it can be fixed , a new one would cost you 3K ... Is your bike still under warranty ?Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostPeople ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Thanks for the response. I suspect it might have something to do with either the cable or the sensors at the wheel, because the rest of the gauges are working fine. That would make sense since both the functions which have stopped working are related to that.Originally posted by nand15 View PostI dunno if it can be fixed , a new one would cost you 3K ... Looks like the sensor but if your are lucky might just be a loose contactOriginally posted by Samarth_M View PostThanks for the response. The speedo sensor alone shouldn't be too expensive and definitely fixable ...Originally posted by Samarth_M View PostThanks for the response. Clean the front disk with a soft cloth..if sound persists get the disk pads cleaned I hope it'll remove the noise from brakes ..noise from handle is odd at 2500km but I think its the issue with the nut bolts connecting the handle svc guys or any local mech can tighten them for you..Originally posted by alto View PostHello everybody,
Some irritating problem in my bike, front brake when pressed gives a cracking sound also when turning handle to the right side it is giving a sound.
What would be the reason for this? Bike is only 2500km old.HISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

Tire Slime
hi All a slight OT,
i found another brand of tire sealant. For those who are interested here is the link:
video link of installation and how this sealant works:
Available from J&P Cycles:http://www.jpcycles.com/ride-on?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=description&utm_campaign=Install_Motorcycle_Tire_Protection_System_fr...
Video Demo Link of how much abuse one's tire can take post installation of the product:
Ride-On TPS tire sealant motorcycle tire puncture demo video. Ride-On TPS motorcycle. While you ride, a protective layer of Ride-On TPS - a gel like substanc...
One independent demo i found doing TP on youtube:
Ride-On Tire Sealant = Indestructible Tires! (almost...) - YouTube
and ofcourse, dealers across india:
Ride-OnIndia Dealers
I don't know the pricing of this product but i presume won't come cheap for sure. This will definitely provide a relief for those guys who are regularly haunted by repeated punctures on their FZs. Anyone interested in the product may contact the dealers directly for the same. This particular brand looks promising as it doesn't slosh around the tires at high speeds and acts as a tire balancer by itself.
Another brand is "Slime" and if i am not wrong, it is available at the svc centre, lower parel, Mumbai. Found a healthy discussion for the same at bcmtouring. here is the link: http://www.bcmtouring.com/forum/trav...ealant-t167-3/

Rear tire punctured!!
Hi all,
after almost a month of sabbatical from riding thanks to my health i just landed in Mumbai and as any mad biker would do.. came to check out me FZ. The rear tire has lost air completely. i suspect the last puncture repair done by the tire repair guy is not good hence no the air loss.
@jkhan69: Anyways, regarding the sealant. I think the ride on TPS product is pretty good atleast the video demo shown by these guys and the amount of torture they have put the tire through pretty much speaks for itself. The product protects mainly the contact patch of the tire to the road i.e. the center so it won't safe guard your tire against things entering from the side which is usually very rare.it seems to be better than other selants as it doesn't form lumps or is susceptible to high temperatures as mentioned by xbhp member:Satyenpoojary.
I have decided to go ahead with the tire sealant judging the tire scene of me bike. Tom first thing in the morning will go and get the repair done and then will contact the ride on dealer, Mumbai regarding the sealant. Shall keep you guys posted.
@iceman: bro will get in touch with you soon regarding showing my FZ-X18 with the FFE

Problemo....!!
paint from the tank side panels(where our legs sometimes touch) is wearing off
my fazer is just one month old and the damage is noticeable. Does anyone have the same problem? I think the scratch resistance of Yamaha paint/clear coat is low.
Any solutions guys???

what do you mean by colour polish?? for polishing the bike you can use carnauba was from formula1 cost around 300rs.
yours is the first case i am seeing this problem.... have been using denims since i boughe my fz more than 2 years back and nothing as such...Originally posted by christo View Postpaint from the tank side panels(where our legs sometimes touch) is wearing off

my first action would be to take it to the sc and demand an explaination of the problem.... at the same time you can also take some pics of the damaged portion and send it to yamaha india along with the bill of the bike.
if this is a problem with the bike being a defective product they have to change the parts.
if they somehow are able to prove that it was due to your mistake may be like keeping the bike in harsh sun all the time(which in this case is unlikely as the bike is just a month old), or spilling of petrol (which tends to damage the painted parts) etc. etc. you can always get a can of touch up spray from your local two wheeler market and do the work yourself. a bottle of spray should not cost more than 200-300rs.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Yes The paint is the weakest point of this bike, if you dont take extreme care of it, it starts to fade very soon.Originally posted by christo View Postpaint from the tank side panels(where our legs sometimes touch) is wearing off

Use wax polish and it should be safe but don't let anything touch the surface...anything as soft as a bag might fade the paint.
Jus 1 day wen i was returning from office wore ma laptop bag on the front side n wen i mounted off i could see gray patch on the tank where ma bag was touching
Happy to hear dat.....looking forward to seeing it....and also good to know u have recovered n up to full speedOriginally posted by shv18 View Post

These ppl completely raped the tire to show the power of sealant. No doubt it an extreme condition torture test n any such thing happening to 1c tire is the remotest possibility. Have put Slime in ma rear tire n i am highly satisfied.....2 weeks n jus 2 psi dropOriginally posted by shv18 View Posthi All a slight OT,
