Dont worry bro its just that the buzzer is not there
the buzzer is the one which makes the beep beep sound when indiactor is ON its an accessory not fitted from the factory if you want it just ask at the showroom
Its better without the buzzer as it may get irritating

Hi bro,Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostDude im still trying to figure out why it lasted only 5.2k

This is a short time, but nothing exceptional! I can tell you that, in my young age, I would have "burnt" the front brake pads (double disc) in less than 4,000 km.....as well as my rear tyre in even shorter time! Was a much bigger bike than FZ16, sure (Honda 750), but this was the way we rode: WILD!
Now, I still have a rather aggressive riding style, but not comparable to what it was (and we also had fast roads in France, while in Vietnam...
!) and the brakes of my bike will last much longer. But all in all, it very much depends on your riding style!
However, there are two other possibilities:
One thing I suspect, from what I read from you, is that you may be just lightly touching the brake lever all the time. Beware that the pads are always in very light contact (but without pressure) with the disc and that with even a light touch it applies pressure. Such common but bad habit is an early death sentence for brake pads!
While mentioning this, I want to add that it is also a common defect amongst bikers to have also a light touch on the clutch lever. Bad, very bad!!!
Another one is that the pistons pushing the pads may not come back easily enough and keep a "too close" (I mean with some pressure) contact with the disc. This can be due to dirty (or incorrect) pistons, or partially blocked return conduits. You may need to have your calipers properly checked, but also your master cylinder (the one actuated by the lever).
I also want to say that not changing your pads before time may lead to having the metal part in contact with the disc, which will damage it and cost many times more than the pads and thousand times the ridiculous little saving that would have been keeping using them for another 150 km or so. Also brakes pads cost nil compared to your safety (and others safety too), so do not try to save peanuts there, please.
To others with "spongy" brakes: very probably comes from incomplete/ incorrect bleeding of the hydraulic fluid.Last edited by Lucky Luke; 11-23-2011, 09:51 AM.When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

i think this is what happened exactly since my riding is mainly cityOriginally posted by Lucky Luke View PostHowever, there are two other possibilities:

i keep my fingers also on the brake lever in traffic
will change the habit
but i don't keep it on the clutch lever no clutch riding
i don't drive aggressively with hard acceleration or hard brakingLast edited by Sunjay Kumar; 11-23-2011, 01:02 PM.

welcome to xbhp.. go through the bike manual once and then if you have not finished the initial 1000 kms of run in just follow the instructions of the manual... constantly change gears to load the engine... do short bursts of speed within acceptable limit.. and change thee oil at 1k kms which is your 1st servicing.Originally posted by viki1901 View PostHey guys....im new to Xbhp and i hav jus owned a fz-s white and red...lookin forward for the wonderful experience... hope can get all the help here....

Petrol Theft is hitting me real hard now
. No petrol from last 2 days in my tank. - Anyone here is using Fuel lock? If Yes, then whats the cost and which company to prefer?
- Does the petrol flow normally even with a Fuel lock?
- Also, can these thieves take the reserve petrol out?

My answers are as below:- Anyone here is using Fuel lock? If Yes, then whats the cost and which company to prefer?
---> Yes, I'm using it. Don't remember the cost since I got it as an accessory during purchase but it won't cost much. It's a local made but good enough. - Does the petrol flow normally even with a Fuel lock?
---> Yes. - Also, can these thieves take the reserve petrol out?
---> Nothing is foolproof, but better than standard cock. Thieves let it go & search for the one without lock.

Is this your stocks pads or replacement?if its R/p it could be a fake one.Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostChanged the front brake pads at 5.2k kms
today went for 4th service had a small sound when i apply the front brakes
the SVC supervisor checked and advised to change the brake pads
he said that it will last only about 100 kms city
I use like 75% front and 25% rear
Is this normal
attaching the images of old pad
Anyway improper fitting/defective pads/improper braking could be the reason.
Keep an eye on the pads after replacement too.also check you disk.check if there are more wear lines on it than usual for your ODO.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

Will keep an eye from this time
I think defective pads or improper braking is the reason
Can some one put some light on proper and efficient use of front and rear brakes of FZ
