Irrespective of whether its new or old, check the clearance, if thats not the problem then its the way you shift. I wouldnt bother much, now I ride a D100, and the gearing is short, so once in a while, when entering a corner I get the bang.

This is the new/upgraded tyre for FZ. This model is Revz-M. Guess the previous model was Revz-C or just Revz (not sure, someone pls confirm). The tyre looks to have a bit rounded shape than the previous one.
Cost: Rs.4,700 in Bangalore
I bought the old version a month before & it cost me 4k. The old tire was not available then & guys @ MRF told me that the new version will be introduced within couple months.
Hope it is as good as old one.

Looks like prices have shot up. Had been to JC road few times in the last couple months but none had it available. Picked it up from a new MRF dealer at Adugodi, opp police quarters.. Lets see how this model fares. Will keep you posted.

MRF is overcharging!! There are lots of new tyres available. 4700 is too much for a tyre from MRF. I think MRF has got some copyright on 140/60 so that no one else can make them! But we can use 140/70 No!
Michelin Pilot Sporty is 3200 INR. it is 140/70-R17.
There is also a Ralson Blaster Pro 140/70-R17.
Also have a look at the Ceat Zoom XL 140/70 - R17. Visit this page for some updates on FZ tyres -
https://www.facebook.com/LambodaraTyres/timeline

I would prefer Michelin over MRF anyday.

Does anyone know what size spanner is used to open the engine oil drain nut (at the bottom) ?
should we use ring-spanner instead of normal spanner for that ?

Ride safe and have fun.

There are some FZ oil changing videos available on net. Find it from there.

Gotcha.
Ring-spanner should be used of 17-18 size.
It has less chances of slipping that normal spanner.

I see image results for both colours on Google and they appear to be the similar to me.

For example, see <Yamaha launches FZ16 and FZ-S with new colors and graphics | Indiaon2wheels> (scroll down to the third image). This is mentioned as black cyber green.

And now, see <Products | India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.> (mean green is displayed, For a larger view, click "Colour" and click on the "mean green" image).

Black Cyber Green FZ-S displayed below:

Mean Green FZ-S displayed below:

The only little difference I see is that the mean green one has a spotted pattern on the side graphics whereas the black cyber green has a curly graphics. Does anyone own the black cyber green coloured bike?

When I asked the Yamaha showroom at CMH Road, Indiranagar, Bangalore, they said they are not aware of any black cyber green coloured FZ-S? Where do people get these cyber green FZ-S from then?

Also, why does the yamaha-motor-india.com website not list the cyber green coloured bike?

I would like to buy the black cyber green FZS because it looks better to me. Can I buy this bike from Yamaha showroom this year?
Hi,
The black cyber green FZS & was the colour which was available in the year 2012 and earlier in 2013.And then the colour codes got changed for FZS and Fazer bikes. From then onwards this black-cyber green colour got discontinued for both the models & only for FZS, green colour was relaunched with a new name(mean green). Though the graphics are different from black cyber green FZS, the colour tone seems to be same. If you compare the 2011 and 2012 models also, there will be change in the graphics. As of now you will not be able to buy the older colour scheme as it is discontinued. But still if you are very keen to buy that one, buy a new one and change the side panels with the panels of the discontinued version from Yamaha SVC (For the tank itself, it will cost you more than 2000 INR). Hope I am able to clear all your doubts about the same.

Dont go for ring spanner, unless you want to expect something like this.

Its best you opt for a box spanner.

But before that make sure the number of points are the same as that of the drain bolt.

Have been using ring spanner for sometime now. Hopefully till date nothing has happened to the bolt. SVC guys use the same spanner to open the drain bolt.

I tried to explain it in words. But nothing explains better than a video.
The procedure is almost exactly the same on our bikes. Wont be hard to figure out the minor differences.

Your pair of feet can tire you... Your pair of wheels can never tire you...

Found this smelled storngly like oil and was like 1-2 spoon of this.
How did it got there ? What might this be ?

Wow! I posted the exact same question with almost an exactly same picture just half an hour ago on facebook
By the way thats petrol.

I would like to know the same. On facebook a lot of people said that they also find fuel on the air-box.

What causes this?
