A relay won't cost you more than 80 - 100 bucks from SVC. Battery, if the svc guys are not giving you a good one and you don't mind spending a bit on a new one then look for Exide or Amco. I would have loved to recommend you to try bosch.. but last i heard they have stopped producing batteries for motorcycle.Originally posted by vishal monster yamaha View Post

I got by bigbore and headwork done by joel last thursday.I just completed 200kms of run-in.One thing I immediately noticed was the increased pull in the lower rpms. The exhaust note is same in the lower rpms and its bassier when revving the engine
And regarding mileage-im getting 48-50 !!
(note:rpm level below 4500)

Took 3 days man..Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View Posthow many days did it take for the big bore?
Right now I have only got the big bore..no difference in appearance from stock..everything is internalOriginally posted by senotrius View Postplease do upload pics..the website doesn't give much info or pics..performance figures(roughly atleast) would be appreciated
..and what about servicing afterwards for the new big bore engines?!btw we really can't expect better mileage as the race-concepts site says can we?

Regarding performance..very interesting incident today
An RTR 180 with pillion playing loud music overtook me(I was doing 60..run-in) and then..the pillion showed me the finger and I was like WTF
Got pissed and opened the throttle a bit and I looked at the speedo..97
I was shocked and slowed down to 60,only to be overtaken and showed the finger again
For reference I usually shift at 7k rpm at each gear on that particular stretch of road and hit 85-90 at that spot..but this time shifting at 5k each gear I hit 97
..It has to be ridden to really feel the difference, and this is just the big bore..exhaust coming soon.
Servicing can be done in SVC itself..even I asked Joel this question :P
And mileage yeah many are infact getting better fuel efficiency, haven't calculated mine yet.

I will go to Joel's place may be next month or so and get the big bore done. The only problem is I will have to stay there for three days. I am about 800 km from Bangalore. So, looking forward to when I can plan the trip. Hope I will receive the exhaust in this week. It is all up to Joel. With the exhaust I expect the engine to reach higher rpm in 5th gear, whereas it only reaches till 7500 and a speed of 105 for now. I also expect the mileage to go up. Mine is giving me about 51kmpl on highway(Note the new ones have lesser torque than previous models) at speeds maintained constantly between 50 and 60. When ridden at 70 to 80 constantly for an hour or two it is giving me about 42-45 and anything above that the mileage drops to 38. I have done the mileage test reserve to reserve with 5 litres of petrol and tested the conditions above. That is what the average is for me.Originally posted by rohan_5013 View PostTook 3 days man..

The mileage figures are about 5kmpl more than what I get at those conditions,33 in thrash mode and about 40 at 70kmph on highways..Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View PostI will go to Joel's place may be next month or so and get the big bore done. Joel can also send the big bore to your place I believe, but the problem is the fitting
I went to the workshop and saw the bike completely disassembled..even the exhaust,so I guess you would have to know a really skilled mechanic to get it fitted locally. It took 3 days in my case..but it usually takes about 2 days..again,not sure about this

I already sent the disassembled head and block two weeks ago with my brother to Joel's place. The problem was my brother went to some wrong address and was pissed off at me since he did not like that place and returned without even bothering to contact Joel. I had a tough time with him that day. I badly wanted the bore done. Funds are not a problem as long as an expert does the modifications for me. My local mechanic is also good at motorcycles, so there was no problem separating the head and the block(He did it in 15min) and reassembled in 10 min. I just want that edge on the highway where now I am getting a feeling that I am slow. I am a safe rider and fast for the same. I am a little unsatisfied with the top end of this bike for now. Lets see what we can do.Originally posted by rohan_5013 View PostThe mileage figures are about 5kmpl more than what I get at those conditions,33 in thrash mode and about 40 at 70kmph on highways..

Hmm if you have a skilled mechanic at your place then I guess you could get the bore shipped along with the exhaust and get it fitted by this mechanic..Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View PostI already sent the disassembled head and block two weeks ago with my brother to Joel's place. Went for a ride early this morning as I did not ride for a whole day yesterday. I tested the top speed, the max it went to was 112 and it does not want to go any further and all that at an rpm of around 7500. Is it the exhaust that restricts it from going further or something wrong. Hope the ffe from Joel has the answer but what could be the reason that the bike does not red-line in the 5th gear. I have observed that it red-lines in all the lower gears but not in the 5th. Do any of you guys observe the same. What could be the reason?BreaklessBiker

I think a stock bike requires a bit of an slope to pull to that speed , it's happy at about 105 kmph ... so the big bore must be an improvement . And yes I have tried this many times but i just could not redline at 5th ... it's does not budge after 8000 RPM .Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View PostWent for a ride early this morning as I did not ride for a whole day yesterday. i managed to hit 125kmph fully crouched with the new bore.. ironically this was the top speed on stock as well. but the big diffrnce is with stock the bike always felt out of breath after speeds of 110. now its a diffrnt scene. i hit the redline at 9k rpm. cud have pushed it even more but backed off.. its a sweet ride now. on highways & out of cornersOriginally posted by RanjithMN View Post@all who have got the 180Bore

i hear you. i was so distraught when i first opened by bike after the run-in with the big bore.. trust me it will improve. give it few kms and patience. initially i could do only 110.Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View PostWent for a ride early this morning as I did not ride for a whole day yesterday.
