Contacted the ASC today, he told that there was no mischief from their end and if am still adamant then he is ready to pay me in cash for the new tyre.Originally posted by jkhan69 View PostHey guys,
Gave my bike for service yesterday and went today to collect the bike as i received a call from them that the Bike is ready.
I happen to have changed my rear tyre recently and rode about 2k km.
I was checking the tyre and noticed that its worn out, as if it was ridden for ~12k Km. Pointed that to service manager, said to him that its not my tyre and he was saying that it not possible for them to change the tyre.
I didn't accept the bike clearly stating that I cant accept it with some other persons tyre. Luckily as I changed the tyre just 15 days back I still had the bill and old tyre still with me, provided them to him and he said he'll look and get back to me by tomorrow.
did it happen with anyone else here ?
Took cash, replaced tyre , and gave him the old tyre that was not mine.

If the bottle fills up to the max,why is it showing minimum markOriginally posted by nand15 View PostHere's the best part , I didn't realise it was a 20w50 grade until today , although i vaguely remember the thought that went through my head saying the grade seems different to my last one ...
The oil seems good enough , it does not feel grainy , visibly similar viscosity , no change in engine sound or characteristic ... the only factor that worries me is the level , it is at minimum ...
When you start the engine and stop it some oil goes up to the cams and stays there for a while..not 100% sure about this..but maybe that is what is causing the minimum mark

@nand15, Sorry to ask you but was the bike on side stand when you checked the level ? Because, the first time I checked I let it on side stand and some part of oil tends to flow away from the dipstick and it was showing a wrong level. I realised my stupidity, placed the bike straight and checked again. It was correct.
@jkhan69, thanks to your experience, I noted the serial nos of my both tyres before leaving for service today. Good so far.
Guys, I completed my first service today. Looks like they just did water wash, oil change and chain service. I asked them to clean the rear brakes as they were squealing but it looks like they did not do it as the brakes still squeal.
Also, the washing quality was not upto the mark. There were lots of water spots here and there.
Also, there is no significant difference in the smoothness after the service.
I have completed around 600 kms now. I took her upto 4.5K RPM and it touches 60. I believe it is ok. Please advise.
The Service Supervisor asked me to go for Semi Synthetic but I refused stating I will think about it after 5k kms.

Quite surprising since FZ has one of the most comfortable seating position meant for touring. Either way, you could put the Fazer fairing on your bike. I hear the seating on the Fazer is even more upright due to its styling.Originally posted by kiran2001 View Postplease suggest a comfortable handle bar for my fz16.i feel fazer's handle more comfortable.is there any better alternative.i travel on highways more so i feel fz16's handle uncomfortable.Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

the reason why you feel fazers handel bar little more comfortable is because its little more raised position that fz try raising your handlebar tell then to adjust by twisting it up you can get a raised positionOriginally posted by kiran2001 View Postplease suggest a comfortable handle bar for my fz16.i feel fazer's handle more comfortable.is there any better alternative.i travel on highways more so i feel fz16's handle uncomfortable.
No there is nothing wrong in sticking with mineral i know our members who is on mineral till 30kOriginally posted by jkhan69 View Postguys, my bike has done 14K kms, am still with mineral.... am I doing a mistake ?

The only foolish thing to do would be NOT to ask ... But yeah , It was on the center stand ... I have been checking the oil the same way everytime , It's only now I'm noticing an unusual situation with it ... ... The smoothness of the bike hasn't been affected , so I plan to run on the same oil ... will keep you guys posted on the developments ...Originally posted by paray2x View Post@nand15, Sorry to ask you but was the bike on side stand when you checked the level ? Hello guys. Just wanted to share a scary situation I was in today.
I was going to my office which is 50km from home. On the way there is a blind turn which I usually enter at 60 to 65 kmph just so that I am able to keep left to the road. Today I was thinking of something about work the previous day and i did not take notice of the speed I was going at which was a scary 85 while entering the turn. I had no choice but to get my knee down to go through the turn and while exit it was 90 and the scary part was a truck fully loaded with fish was in front of me. I panicked ther for a second and got my cool, but the thing is that i am alive just because the road was empty except for the truck. I am usually a careful person but what happened today was if somebody else was in that situation or even I for the matter did not stay cool, would be no more. My point is the grip the fat tyres gave did save my life today. I would not want to go through such situation but I learnt a lesson today as well as come to appreciate something about the bike. Just an experience and nothing elseBreaklessBiker

but i also feel that the tyre is less stable on loose sans or very small stones
