The place where i service my bike they change the oil filter during all services and i have no objections with it
Is it at minimum mark now hey when you drained the oil did you check the thickness of the oil and was the color real black when you were pouring it back i think the thickness is of importance it shows the condition of the oil

I change the oil myself and not at the SVC and I did confirm with them about the oil filter changing interval ...

Yes now it is at minimum level . And it is real black and it wasn't this black the last time ... I haven't drained the oil this time yet and put it back , if that's what you're referring to , I was talking about the last time i changed at the same time , but the oil filled up the bottle completely...

      • tyre changed at service center

        Hey guys,

Gave my bike for service yesterday and went today to collect the bike as i received a call from them that the Bike is ready.

I happen to have changed my rear tyre recently and rode about 2k km.

I was checking the tyre and noticed that its worn out, as if it was ridden for ~12k Km. Pointed that to service manager, said to him that its not my tyre and he was saying that it not possible for them to change the tyre.

I didn't accept the bike clearly stating that I cant accept it with some other persons tyre. Luckily as I changed the tyre just 15 days back I still had the bill and old tyre still with me, provided them to him and he said he'll look and get back to me by tomorrow.

did it happen with anyone else here ?

Had the tyre changed at MRF as it was cheaper than ASC and no installation charges. I do have bill from MRF and the old tyre but No photos with the new tyre. My friends and room-mates did see the new tyre, but I dont think this will be on any help

Bill would do. I bought damaged spares from Yamaha counter and I saw it only after reaching home and I was the only witness that it was not my fault. Been a little bit harsh to the customer care after the dealer refused replacement and got it replaced.

First go and screwup whom ever is in ASC, the SA who handled your bike to the center manager If nothing turns up either call the customer care standing there or go home and mail them with the bills and stuffs.

take the bike to svc blast them if they do not recharge the battery for free...

if it happens again tell them to check the electricals for any short circuits or unwanted grounded wire or may be something as small as a cut in the wire.....
wouldnt the battery get charged if i ride it for sometime?? ok then, i ll take it to the svc.

Just this time the grade of oil and the interval is kind of confusing me ...
So that explains the black color of your oil.

There is oil left over in the oil filter(and i know how much oil is left in the oil filter chamber) and the inevitable residual oil in the engine even after draining it completely....

Its written in the manual to change the oil filter at 10k intervals...but you should atleast clean it before changing to new oil...

I change the oil filter everytime i change the oil...its relatively very cheap too and a good practice....my bike is on its tenth oil filter now...i suggest you do the same.

And regarding the oil being at the minimum mark i suggest you check the packing quantity.....and also some synthetics tend to decrease in level while others do not, in the same bike.

Again...even if it doesnt concern me i would like to know why on earth would you use a 20W50 synthetic oil in the pleasant bangalore climate for a bike of 20W40

So i guess your oil is good to use coz it does not fel grainy or rough or less viscous.....

                            cheers....

Here's the best part , I didn't realise it was a 20w50 grade until today , although i vaguely remember the thought that went through my head saying the grade seems different to my last one ...

The oil seems good enough , it does not feel grainy , visibly similar viscosity , no change in engine sound or characteristic ... the only factor that worries me is the level , it is at minimum ...
