  • Final Service

    Hi Guys,

I have my final free service next week.
Can you suggest what will be the things I'll have to get checked, that will tend to deteriorate as time goes on ?
Like spark plug, carburetor or something ?

Firstly Fz16 & Fazer Is Rumored(May be ) to have vibrations just above 80 while pulsar is smooth at its top speed.
Secondly the Mono shocks & looks of Fz & Fazer Both Impresses Me..
Thirdly The Bike Should Be Smooth At top Revs & Reliable
I Want A Bike For Daily Tutions , colleges(for which i will be using ahead in future) & for School... Please Guys Reply And Help ME
This is the funniest thing I have heard for quite a while, you are stating the exact opposite of what actually happens..Fz/Fazer does not have any vibrations and is SILKY smooth till the 125 kmph top end that I have achieved..pulsar is a different story,it does vibrate at high speeds.

If you have the patience, yes. But if you have a mechanic whom you trust, it will take just an hour or so. I suggest you stay with the mechanic while the job is done so as to learn first. Getting the jets fitted and getting the correct fuel air mixture is a tough job i think.

For me the mileage figures are an indicator for the engine health.. I usually ride on the higher rpms and hence tend to stress the engine more.. Though, I maintain the bike well and get it serviced on time, the mileage numbers just confirm that all is well inside..

Thats true, the engine in a way gets molded to your riding style, and if you are too gentle, it would create trouble when it gets a little older.. You should try to push the engine to its boundaries every once a while to keep it healthy.. something like a heavy workout at the gym.. having said that, just ensure that you maintain it accordingly..

I use nitrogen in my tyres(infact i have used on apache for 1year as well) and I have noticed that with nitrogen I only check the pressure and rarely top-up.
I don't use nitrogen and still I've been getting 40+/- 2 since the beginning.. so may be nitrogen combined with a easy riding style IS making a huge difference in your case..

And there was a discussion on being able to redline in 5th gear.. me too have touched 125kmph and redlined my Fazer a couple of times on Eastern express highway between JVLR to Airoli bridge without any issues

a bike is only as good as its rider...

About redlining in 5th gear, I am able to reach upto 8000 rpm, but the bike takes so much time to reach there. There is also not enough stretch to go further. I only felt that disappointment when I was on NH5 and took a 70km casual ride. On the regular route I am yet to see someone overtake me(that includes cars), such are the roads here. Wonder what it will be like when my bike gets complete upgrades from Joel

Even I can redline it in 5th gear BUT I need:
                      1) A strong tailwind
                      2)Fully crouched on the tank

Most of the SVC guys will tell you that your chain has gone bad at 12-14K and you need to replace it, but don't listen to them. You can check yourself whether your chain set needs replacement or not.

Make sure you tighten the chain first as per your requirement. Rotate the wheel and again check the chain slackness. If your chain sprockets and chain is gone bad then the slackness will differ when you rotate the rear wheel. This is the best and effective method to identify whether your chain sprockets and chain need replacement.
If it is not the case then just lubricate the chain properly and this should solve your problem.

Thanks very much RAK, BTW what is the suggested period to change the chain assembly ?

hey dude i Heard It In the Autocar & Times Now Review That FZ seems to loose its Power from 80 and above it feels like engine is in stress While the 4 valve is Rev happy ...

Never ridden the P135 but have read good reviews about it's motor..but the Fz does not lose power till 100 AFAIK and it is very smooth, maybe they were referring to the engine sound as it literally screams at speeds greater than 100..P135 is a great bike and is far lighter on the pocket than the Fz,go for it if you like it

                              • pulsar 135 has its perfomance level similar to a 150cc even i had considered that while i was goin to buy
but when reliability and looks is an important thing for me so i got the fz16
if you don't care much about the mileage the p135 wil provide more mileage but i don't think it wil be very reliable bike
and regarding vibrations fz has null viberations at all speeds if you hav the money and don't care much about the mileage then don't waste time thinking get an fz the new ones are more fuel efficent also
