The tip should be dark brown-light black color. Maybe the bikes running 'little' rich on fuel.

Does bike ideals well when choke is off?Originally posted by devils_friend View PostGuys, i am facing strange issue lately. While starting the bike in morning, when i pull the choke, the RPM shoots to 2.5-3k. Previously it would stay at 2k. One month back had done the carburettor cleaning job at SVC and the Spark Plug was changed. Everything is stock in the bike. Checked the condition of plug and noticed the tip to be fine with no soot deposits. The only thing is, the starting of plug (after the tip) has turned black.
What can be the issue?
Cheerz!!
If so there is no need to worry.
carb is sending more fuel on applying choke

I wad facing wrough idealing issue. So went to svc and asked mechanic to inspect carburator. But nothing was wrong with it.
Mechanic started the bike and pressed clutch lever.Bike was idealing ok when cluch lever was pressed. So he suggested to check clutch housi g.
He was right. There was excessive free play of the housing.
He said clutch housing needs lethe work.

The cost of a new speedometer is 2316 rs. Just to be in safer side check whether there is any small bent in handle bar or if the cone set is damaged or not due to the accident.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I had last week posted that I was getting a weird tak tak noise from the front end.
Actually it was coming due to the contact between mud guard and the crash guard which had a loose screw. I noticed that while washing the bike today. Silly me
And here I though I might have a damaged conset
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, have been running on Shell AX7 (semi-synth) oil for sometime now. Although i am facing one issue, whenever i downshift at higher or lower RPM's, there is khatak sound. This was not the case when i was using mineral oil. Anybody facing this issue with FS/SS oil.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thats the transmission banging when you downshift from high speeds, its normal, and the sound gets louder if there is excess chain slack. I'd suggest you first get the chain tightened, and then try to shift more smoothly, like matching revs while downshifting.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostGuys, have been running on Shell AX7 (semi-synth) oil for sometime now.
