It depends from machine to machine..
as for me (stock FZ), i got a max of 112 km/h and that too on downward slope (while desending flyover)
normally it maxs around 105-107 km/h..

Mate if you are not facing any kind of problems in ignition, that means the spark plug is working fine..
the spark plug should be changed at around 12k..
as regarding the condition from the pics, it doesn't seem bad.. A small amount of deposits are always there..

    Ride safe and have fun.

I guess the fairings of Fazer might be helping. I was not able to keep the speed above 100kph.

For me the bike is completely stock. Yes, the fairings might be helpful in achieving the higher speeds.

They do help mate, a lot actually. The fairing helps in deflecting the air away from the rider in turn making the bike very aerodynamic when fully crouched. You can't achieve this on the FZ, there is drag fairings being absent plus added drag from the rider.

Hi people, i just got a doubt while going through the initial pages of the thread.. Couple of guys mentioned that should not cross 75KMPH after 1 service - till 2nd service.. I have been riding more than 80/90 and touched over 100 couple of times.. Will this be an issue in any sort ?? Waiting for your replies..

Nothing like that. Once you have completed your break in period properly and got it serviced. Throttling to any speed is not an issue.

              • Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S - Motul 15w 50 300v single ester oil change

Hi guys, I have ridden 5000kms in my yamaha fz bike and i am gonna opt for Motul 15w 50 300v single ester oil instead of Yamalube. Is it preferrable or should i complete another 5000kms and go in for motul?.

What is the difference between Motul 15w 50 300v single ester oil and Motul mineral oil 3000v 20w 40. Which one can be preferred?

What is the drain period for motul engine oil?

Guys, Please share your valuable thoughts.

                Thanks,

                  Fairings really help a lot..127kmph fully crouched,no crosswinds,plane road.

                    Thanks,
AFAIK there is no Motul 300V single ester oil. 300v is double-ester fully synthetic oil. The single ester fully synthetic oil is called Motul 7100 4T.

Also there is no Motul 3000v. The mineral oil from Motul is called Motul 3000 4T Plus.

Can you confirm the exact oil you are interested in?

The Motul engine oils I know available in India are:
Motul 3000 4T plus (Mineral oil)
                    Motul 5100 4T (Semi-synthetic oil)
                    Motul 7100 4T (Fully-synthetic Single-ester oil)
                    Motul 300v Factory Line (Fully-Synthetic Double-ester oil)

Fellow rider Shv18 has been using 300v series for quite some time. He can better advise on the drain interval. Since you have already completed 5k on your ODO you can opt for a FS oil.

                    Cheers!!

                      Hi Guys,
Need your help/suggestions - I have completed my first 1000kms and First Service on my Fazer (current odo reading 1175.8). Now today while coming to office, I went upto 75-80 km/ph, the experience was just great, no vibes no engine noise, absolutely smooth as butter, I have varied the speed from 60-80 for 5-10 mins and after that I stopped for a tea break. When I stopped, I smelled some burning smell coming from the engine area of my steed, I inspected, but found nothing. Also, the area beneath the tank was also hot. So, what could have gone wrong? what's the reason for the burning smell? Please help.

Paint on the exhaust pipe and the CatCon is burning. Happens in these bikes initially. It will go away on its own.

                        Cheers!!

There is a catch here. Redlining on a new bike has its detrimental effects so does a constant speed, all these either make way for poor compression and irregular wear. The reason people say not to EXCEED as such is for the bike's piston sealing capabilities. But there's another theory that states WOT right from the word go and has it's unique advantages.

Now 75 is not bad a speed, and frequenting between low and high speed makes the engine set on a positive ground than a constant (i.e. glazed characteristic).

In short, give irregular burst of speeds as such in an around 75 KMPH, but don't hold the throttle constant an ride all the way.

                            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                            THE END

Today while I was driving, bike started giving a hissing sound or alarm sound type. It vanishes when I Stop. After a while, i almost reached service center when bike wont go ahead. Had to put in reserve to start. And bike is a bit out of balance too! So, gave to service center. My first servicing. Hope they rectify the issue. What would've been the problem guys?
